Today's world has become a global village and celebrations of all kinds showcase the acceptance of cultural diversity, solidarity and patriotism. Various events and celebrations are held at Sachdeva Public School throughout the year wherein children get an excellent opportunity to discover their latent talent. The teachers motivate and nurture the skills of the students for their holistic development. All the celebrations and events that are organized in Sachdeva Public School have some profound meaning and pragmatic purpose as well.







NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY 13-11-2017

The school observed National Education Day on 13th November 2017 with complete zeal and enthusiasm. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, great freedom fighter, eminent educationist and the first Union minister of Education. The students participated in various activities such as card making, slogan writing and essay writing to showcase their creativity and knowledge about the importance of education in our lives and the position it holds in the nation’s growth and development. Through the celebration the students were made aware about the nation’s commitment to all aspects of education and how each one of us can do our bit to ensure total literacy for our people. 


 


DANCE AND MUSIC: THE ESSENCE OF LIFE- DANCE COMPETITION(ISA-ACTIVITY) 08-11-2017

The school organised a Dance competition for class VIII on 8th November 2017 as a part of ISA project. The students presented a visual treat through their dances. The children presented the famous dance forms of four countries- India, France, Spain and China. The competition was mesmerising and it gave a chance to the students to learn about the culture, dance and music of the chosen countries. The spectators thoroughly enjoyed themselves and cheered and clapped with full gusto. The principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi congratulated the students and teachers for putting up a great show.

ISA Activity-Fancy Dress Competition (LKG and UKG) 07-11-2017

Fancy Dress Competition, under the ISA Activity was organised for the Children of LKG and UKG classes to provide them opportunities for growth in the areas of social and emotional development, and to give them a better understanding of cartoon characters around the world.


 


Camel Art Contest(UKG) 06-11-2017

The children poured out their creativity and imagination through the "Camel Art Contest" organised by Kokuyo Camlin;the topic of which was "Fish and Butterfly". These elements of nature were very wonderfully created by the little ones.

CAMEL COLOUR CONTEST-CLASSES I AND II 06-11-2017

Drawing and Colouring is the favourite activity of every child. Like every year this year also Camel Colour Contest was arranged in school for classes I and II. The topic given was ‘My pet animals’. The tiny tots drew different animals and used different ideas to create scenes around them. Best entries were selected by Art Teacher-Ms. Jyoti Amar and sent to Camel Colour.

ISA Activity-Worksheets (LKG and UKG) 24-10-2017

To recapitulate the knowledge of cartoons around the world, the children were given interesting worksheets under the ISA Activity, which they greatly enjoyed.


 


Workshop on Practices to Prevent Food Wastage (III – V) 17-10-2017

‘Today’s wastage is tomorrow’s shortage’

Food wastage is a thoughtless and mindless universal activity and should be minimized. To create awareness and inculcate the value of preventing food wastage, a workshop was organized for the students of classes III –V for the ISA Activity ‘Food – A Common Ground and Universal Experience’. The resource persons discussed how food wastage can be avoided and various practices being followed to prevent it. The students got an insight into the various individuals and organizations that are involved in this noble cause in our country. They even came to know about the various apps like No Food Waste, Feeding India etc. which can be made use of to distribute surplus food to the needy.

 

The workshop concluded with the students taking a pledge to not waste food and become ambassadors of removing world hunger.

Diwali Celebration ( Class I and II ) 17-10-2017

After Dussehra now it was Diwali- The festival of lights when there was festivity at its best in Classes I and II. on 17 October 2017 a small Diwali Mela was set up where different games were arranged. The tiny tots in ethnics were full of excitement while playing games and wishing each other Happy Diwali.
The Principal Ma'am lighted the lamp and inaugrated the games. Whole building was decorated with Diyas and Bandhanwars made by the little ones. They enjoyed party lunch also.


 


Diwali Celebrations 16-10-2017

Diwali, the festival of lights that dispels the darkness of ignorance, hatred and negativity to spread the light of love and brotherhood all round was celebrated with gaiety, joy and devotion in school.

A special assembly was organized by the students to celebrate the biggest of the Hindu festivals. The festivities began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal Ma’am which was followed by a Ganesh Vandana invoking the blessings of the Almighty. The students also presented a Diwali song whose melody echoed in the school grounds and in the hearts of all present. The essence of Diwali, the celebration of life and goodness was on display in a beautiful dance performance that left the audience asking for more. The assembly concluded with the Principal Ms. Mona Rastogi encouraging the students to celebrate a clean, green, smoke and cracker free Diwali.

 

On this auspicious occasion, the students excitedly participated in the craft competition that saw the little ones of class III making and decorating paper diyas and candles. The students of class IV made wonderful traditional bandhanwars and class V students made some amazing lanterns that shone and glittered in the sun. The enthusiasm with which the students participated in the competition was heartwarming and befitting the spirit, splendor and glory of Diwali.

Diya Decoration and Bandhanwar Making Competition ( Class I and II ) 06-10-2017

Creative Power and Aesthetic sense of children needs to be explored at this age. To know the talent of the tiny tots Diya decoration and Bandhanwar Making Competition for Class I and II respectively were arranged on 6th October 2017.
The children came out with beautiful, new and creative ideas. They enjoyed this craft too much. Best entries will be awarded.

Dussehra Week ( Class I and II ) 27-09-2017

Festival Time is here again. Celebration of festivals in school keep children connected to their culture and history.The whole week was full of enthusiasm in classes I and II beginning from 21 September to 27 September. The children enjoyed colouring of potraits of the characters of Ramayan Ram Ji and Hanuman Ji. Next day they watched the movie Ramayan and enjoyed Popcorns and Frooti, they were asked to bring.The students also had Coustume Fiesta in which they came dressed up as Mythological characters. In this show all the students of I and II participated. Best ones were given certificates.
Then the last day, they presented dance drama based on Ramlila. Some scenes of Ramayan were depicted by the Tiny Tots. Ram Darbar looked wonderful where little and cute Ram, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman were smiling. 
Last day was also celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. Gandhi ji's favourite Bhajan and a song was sung. A child had become Bapu Gandhi who walked around on the tune- Bande me tha dum- Vande Mataram.This was the whole week full of activities and celebration.

Handwriting Week (III - V) 27-09-2017

‘Good writing is clear thinking made visible. ‘

In this age of technology and computers, the skill of handwriting remains important in education and later on in employment and in everyday life too.

Time devoted to the teaching and learning of letter formation in the early years will pay off in later years. Legible writing that can be produced comfortably, at speed and with little conscious effort contributes to becoming better writers in times when assessments are based on written work.

Our students in the primary section write well and to motivate them to further improve their writing skill and master the nuances of a good handwriting, Handwriting Week was organized from 25 September ’17 for classes III – V.

The week culminated in a Calligraphy Competition that gave an opportunity to each child to display the style and technique required for writing beautiful calligraphy.

While every participant is a winner, every writing, however good, always has scope for improvement, so the better ones deserve to be encouraged and were awarded certificates for their efforts.

Dussehra Celebration (LKG and UKG) 26-09-2017

The teachers of SPS leave no stone unturned when it comes to let the kids have fun while they learn. Dussehra was celebrated with full festive fervour in the Nursery wing. Teachers, dressed up as mythological characters looked nothing short of wonderful as they enacted the story of Ramayana. The Students were overjoyed to watch it and Lord Hanuman was the major element of joy. They were super excited to see the Rama- Ravana battle. Later, they were made to sing songs of the glory of Lord Rama. They were given a cut-out of Ravana to be carried home.

Special Assembly Gandhi Jayanti (III - V) 26-09-2017

A special assembly was organized for classes III to V on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Special thoughts highlighting Father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings were spoken. The students paid homage to the great leader by singing his favourite bhajan- Raghupati Raghav Rajaram. The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, paid floral tribute to the great soul and urged the students to follow the path of truth and non-violence. She also encouraged the students to make cleanliness a way of life and participate in ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ enthusiastically.

ISA Activity-Mask Making Competition (LKG and UKG) 20-09-2017

A mask making activity, under the ISA was organised on 20th September 2017. It witnessed an earnest participation of the studenta. They created amazing mask under the guidance of Mrs. Kanika Khullar and Mrs. Mamta Gulati. feathers, Cloth piece, mirrors, popsickle sticks, straws and beads were wisely used by the students to embellish their masks.
Apart from learning how to make a mask, they acquired facts about the cartoon characters of India, China, Japan and USA. The School Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi,  applauded the teachers/ parents for promoting artistic excellence.

Interhouse Folktale Enactment Competition (ISA Project) 19-09-2017

“Folktales are the stories that grew out of the lives and imaginations of the people, or folk.”

An Interhouse Folktale Enactment competition was organized for class VI and VII on 19th September 2017. The competition was organized to allow the students to see how universal human values exist in varied cultures across the world. The children presented popular folktales of the four countries- India, France, Sri Lanka and China. The students very enthusiastically enacted the stories. The judgement was on the basis of intonation, expression, narration and acting skills of the students. The principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi appreciated the efforts put in by the students and teachers to make the competition a success.

Cookery Competition (ISA Activity, III - V) 15-09-2017

Cookery competition for the students of classes III to V was organized in the school. The students showcased their culinary skills and prepared dishes from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, France, and China. Biryani, Dhokla, Idli, Aloo Poori from India, Sel Roti and Batuk from Nepal, Cashew and Mango Curry from Sri Lanka, Mousse, Apple Pie, Au Gratin from France, Chowmein, Manchurian, Spring Rolls from China and many more mouthwatering dishes were a treat to the eye and also tickled the taste buds of one and all present. The global chefs of SPS added another feather to their cap and brought international dimension to their learning through this activity. A tasting session was also organized wherein the students familiarized themselves with the world cuisine appreciating the similarities as well as differences amongst the dishes from around the world. The Principal, Ms Mona Rastogi, lauded the efforts of the students and complimented the teachers for the successful execution of the ISA activity.

INTERCLASS DISPLAY BOARD COMPETITION (ISA ACITIVITY) 13-09-2017

An interclass display board decoration competition was held on 13 September 2017 for students of class VIII as a part of the ongoing ISA project- Dance and Music: The Essence of Life. The students showcased their talent and prepared attractive charts and displays representing all the important music and dance forms of four countries- India, France, Spain and China.

This competition gave a chance to the students to learn about the culture, dance and music of the chosen countries and added an international dimension to their existing knowledge. The children used their creativity and imagination to prepare the charts for the soft board which has an amazing effect. The activity was a spectacular display of teamwork and all the students enjoyed it thoroughly.

Itihaas Anveshan 2017 (III - V) 13-09-2017

The students of classes III to V participated in Anveshan 2017 and won the ‘Song of the Year’ award at the National level in the category Cheshta. Itihaas Anveshan is an endeavour to bring together the many hues of children’s talent and celebrate the efforts that go into research, writing, music composition and performance.

An eminent jury adjudged the song written by the children about Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam on the basis of research and innovation, lyrics, tune and versatility of the instruments used. The Principal, Ms Mona Rastogi, lauded the efforts of the students and congratulated the students and the teachers on their achievement.

Cleanliness Drive Week ( Class I and II ) 08-09-2017

" Live Life Cleaner. Make Earth Greener"
Cleanliness Drive Week was observed in classes I and II from 1-8 September 2017. A special assembly was organized to take oath of cleanliness in which students promised to keep their surroundings clean. They also presented related poems and speeches in assembly. The tiny tots made poster on keeping India clean and green and along with teachers took out a rally around the school to encourage their elders to keep India clean. The teachers also discussed how to keep their home and school clean and its importance. It was a great week full of fun and learning. 


 


Teacher’s Day Celebration 05-09-2017

“Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-next”

To acknowledge and recognise the hard-work put in by the teachers towards the development of the children, Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September in the school premises. The children paid tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan to commemorate his birth anniversary. They also showed their gratitude to the teachers with their beautiful musical and dance performances. The students further enthralled the teachers with various exciting games. The auspicious day was celebrated with great zeal and fervor. All in all, it was a celebration mode for everyone.

Teacher's day is a special occasion celebrated to honour and appreciate the teachers. It's the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.Children of Nursery department appreciated the hardwork of teachers by making beautiful frames,placards, flower potsfor their teachers.Children enjoyed participating in these activities and were enlightened.

Teacher's Day Celebration ( Class I and II ) 04-09-2017

Teacher's Day was celebrated on 4th September in Classes I and II. A special assembly was organised. The students prepared short speeches on importance of the day, Dr. S Radhakrishan's life and some hindi shlokas about gurus. They had party lunch and enjoyed the day.

Investiture Ceremony 29-08-2017

Pray not for lighter load but strong shoulders’

The new Students’ Council (2017-18) for the school was appointed in a radiant investiture ceremony.  The event initiated by involving the blessings of Goddess Saraswati through the sacred Saraswati Vandana.  Thereafter, a magnificient oath ceremony took place.
The Council comprises of Head Boys and Head Girls for Junior, Middle and Senior School, Sports Captains and Sports Vice Captains and Captains and Vice Captains of four houses.
The new Students’ Council solemnly promised to execute all the responsibilities and duties with loyalty and integrity.
They vowed to venture the paragon of morality and ethics of the school and work towards the attainment of its goals.  The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, congratulated the members of the Students’ Council and motivated them to work with supreme adherence and rectitude.  The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.

 


 


Scrap file making (UKG) 25-08-2017

Scrap files were made beautifully by the children. Each one created his own Scrap file on his favourite International cartoon like – Dora, Kung- fu Panda and Doraemon, to name a few. They put in their hearty efforts by using paints, stick- ons, crayons and other decorative material. 


 


Ganesh Chaturthi ( Class I and II ) 25-08-2017
All the festivals are celebrated with great zest and zeal in Classes I and II to keep the children aware of the Indian Culture. Same way, Ganesh Chaturthi was also celebrated.
Children offered flowers and prayers and ate ladoos. They were told about Lord Ganesha in brief.

 


Show and Tell Activity (Class I and II) 25-08-2017

Cleanliness and Fitness Week was observed in Class I and II from 21-25 August 2017.
Along with many other activities, Show and Tell Activity was also arranged on 24-08-2017. The children spoke on different objects like toothpaste, soap, hand sanitizer, dustbin, etc. Such activities boost up the confidence of students and teach them to fight with stage fear. 


 


31st Founder’s Day Celebration 15-08-2017

The school celebrated its 31st Founder’s Day with great pomp and vigour. Many eminent personalities from the field of education blessed the occasion with their august presence. Shri S.K. Sachdeva, Hon’ble Chairman of the school, reminded the students to protect and preserve the unity and diversity of this great nation. The programme began with the national anthem and flag hoisting. The students presented a dance ballet “Ye Hai Jashn é Aazadi” highlighting the myriad hues of the nation and expressing the need to free ourselves from social evils like corruption, insanitary conditions and injustice. The show was spectacular and left everyone spellbound. The release of the tri color balloons was the most colourful visual which symbolised the upliftment of the spirit of the students and our glorious nation in all spheres of life. The Principal, Ms Mona Rastogi congratulated the students and staff and encouraged them to surpass all benchmarks in the future.

Independence day and Janamashtami (LKG and UKG) 11-08-2017

The Independence day and Janamashtami were celebrated with great revel in the kindergarten of SPS. Every nook and corner of the building spoke of the celebration as it was adorned with Tri colour hangings, matkis and flutes. The electrifying performances by the little ones on various patriotic songs urged today’s generation to value the freedom India attained after the sacrifices of many.Sheer enthusiasm was witnessed during the celebration of Janamashtami as well. The children swayed beautifully to the tunes of Lord Krishna songs.The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi concluded the programme by releasing Tri colour ballons and ‘Dahi Handi’ ceremony.


 


Independence Day ( Class I and II ) 10-08-2017

Celebration is also a part of our education. The children learn and enjoy celebrating festivals with their friends. Independence Day, Janamashtami and Founder's Day of SPS was celebrated on 10 August 2017 in classes I and II. The children were dressed in colourful dresses and full of enthusiasm.They danced on patriotic and religious songs. Principal Mam cut the cake, offered her prayers to Krishan ji and released tri- coloured balloons.


 


RAKSHABANDHAN CRAFT COMPETITION – CLASSES III to V 09-08-2017

The bond between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. The students of classes III to V celebrated this festival of love very creatively by making the following articles:

Thali decoration and Gift wrapping (Class V)

The creative little hands came out with innovative and creative ideas which slowly took shape and resulted in beautiful artifacts.

ISA Activity- Exhibition (LKG and UKG) 29-07-2017

                      The Annual Exhibition based on ISA, was named- The Fantasy land. Beautiful art and craft work on International Cartoon Characters was on display. It got an overwhelming response by the children and the parents as well; and received appreciation from the honorable guest, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, the Principal .
                       Cartoon themed – Birthday cakes, Scrap files, Piggy banks, Castles and many more things were beautifully created and displayed which left the spectators mesmerized. They applauded the school for making the students work for the International School award.          


 


Annual Exhibition (I and II) 29-07-2017

Annual Exhibition of classes I and II was organized on 29th July 2017 in KP Block. 

It was a grand display of Holidays Homework assigned to the students. Most of the things were made of waste materials. Such creative work help students to express their innovative ideas. It was a great success of the hard work by the students, parents and teachers.


 


ISA Activity- ‘Cultural Odyssey: The Annual Exhibition’ 22-07-2017

Classes VI-VIII organized ‘Cultural Odyssey: The Annual Exhibition’ on 22nd July 2017 to showcase the talent and work of students in various subjects. The exhibition sought to engage children and teachers to synergise experiences and motivate each other to design and develop something novel. The exhibition started with lamp lighting ceremony by the Principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi. The students gave a short introduction about their creative endeavour going hand in hand with the International School Award (ISA) which is a benchmark for accrediting schools on having an outstanding level of support for nurturing global citizenship in the students and enriching teaching and learning. Creativity abounded amidst the work displayed which contained charts, models, projects, book jackets, scrolls and so on. The exhibition was attended by a large number of parents who appreciated the dedicated efforts of the students.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION 22-07-2017

Science Exhibition INFINITY…. Science Unlimited was organized in July 2017 with an aim of inculcating scientific temperament and make science learning an interesting endeavour through projects, models, research work and activities. The exhibition by students of VI to XI generated awareness about the increasing concern towards environment with number of projects and activities on how to reduce pollution, save energy, waste management, vector control, disease cure- the organic way. The models also showcased problems faced by society related to increased traffic, agriculture, health etc. The parents and guests were spell bound by the rational outlook, potential talent and knowledge of students. School Principal Ms. Mona Rastogi appreciated the efforts of students and teachers and congratulated them on the success of the event.


 


ISA Activity- Colouring competition (UKG) 20-07-2017

The Colouring Competition under the ISA project was held on 20 july 2017.The children were given the pictures of cartoons from countries like- India, China, Japan & USA to colour.
They used their imagination and coloured with different colours which had an amazing effect.
The end result was spectacular. In all, the children tried their best and enjoyed the activity.


 


ISA Activity-Power point Presentation (LKG and UKG) 20-07-2017

A Power point Presentation under the ISA was shown to the children on 20 th  july 2017. It was based on Indian and International cartoons like- Bheem, Dora, Kung-fu-Panda and Doraemon and proved quite useful to upgrade their knowledge of the cartoon world. They were thrilled to watch their favourite cartoons and were thus indulged in multiple learning styles. The special effects and sounds fascinated them to a great extent.


 


Poetry Recitation IX-X 20-07-2017

The school organized Poetry Recitation for the students of classes IX-X on 20 July 2017. The children recited beautiful poems by eminent English Poets. The students mesmerized everyone by reciting the poems with proper intonation, elocution and pronunciation. The activity provided a platform to the students where their talent was nurtured further. Annual Exhibition- Classes III - V 15-07-2017

Classes III-V organised the annual exhibition ‘Creativity at its Best’ on 15July, 2017 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi. This exhibition emulated the hope and aspirations of our children in becoming the geniuses of tomorrow. This event brought out the quiescent talent of the children and gave wings to their imagination. The beautiful paintings and artistic craft work left the spectators mesmerized. The exhibition got an overwhelming response both from the children and the guardians. The parents were delighted to see the work of the students whilst the children themselves were busy trying to spot their own special creation amidst the collection. The exhibition was a huge success. Enthusiasm and effervescence overflowed amongst students, teachers and parents.

 

The Principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi lauded the efforts of the students and the guidance of the parents and teachers in putting up a spellbinding display.

Nutrition Week 14-07-2017

Junk food has become every child's habit today.

So to keep them away from it Nutrition Week was observed by Classes I and II from 10th July to 14th July.

The students were motivated to enjoy healthy food together like green vegetables, fruit chaat and puri aloo.


 


Mango Treat ( LKG) 13-07-2017

It was a mangolicious day for the children and on this occasion the nursery department of SPS celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by organising a special assembly.
          The children also swayed with joy on the beats of rhymes related to mango. They shared and relished delicious eatables they brought as special tiffins.
          The Children also did craft activity to mark the occasion.


 


Creativity at its Best- Primary Wing Exhibition 13-07-2017

Every child is born creative. The challenge is to keep that creativity alive.

Keeping this in mind the Primary wing of the school is organizing the annual exhibition ‘Creativity at its Best’ on 15th July 2017. It will provide a platform to our young budding artists to showcase their individuality and creativity. The students have worked hard all through their summer vacation to amass a huge collection of paintings and craft material which will be displayed in the activity hall of the school to encourage the artistic skills of the students.

This message was conveyed to the kids on the World Doctor day which was celebrated in Nursery wing on 12 july,  2017.
 Our School Doctor, Dr. Sahni was called to acquaint the children about health and hygeine and proper nutrition to fight diseases. He was felicitated by the staff and students for his kind contribution towards the society. The celebration concluded with a message "Thank you" Doctor for everything you have done to keep me in the pink of health and the best of spirits!


 


Intra MUN (IX) 23-06-2017

Students of classes 9th and 10th organised an Intra School MUN on 23rd June 2017, with the objective of creating awareness amongst diverse nations about unity in diversity. There were two committees, IMF (International Monetary Fund) and UNGA (United Nations General Assembly). Each having a different agenda- Humanitarian Intervention at Syrian borders (UNGA) and special emphasis on instability in stock markets (IMF). Many students participated in the conference as delegates  for the first time. So in order to boost up their confidence level, they had a workshop which helped them to know the norms of MUN. Representatives of countries like Jordan, USA, UK etc. were the part of the conference. It influenced the delegates in their daily lives and helped them to learn values like compassion and tolerance. The MUN proved to be an influential medium to gain insight into the working of the United Nations

3rd International Yoga Day Celebration 21-06-2017

The NCC Cadets (Girls) participated in the 3rd International Yoga Day Celebrations on 21st June 2017 organised at Satellite Station No. 4, S.K.V, Badli. The event was witnessed by more than 120 Cadets from various schools and colleges along with school staff and NCC Officers. The celebration started with prayers and systematic practicing of different ‘ASANAS’ along with Pranayama and meditation. The Cadets got the opportunity to learn first hand how yoga embodies the unity of mind and the body.

Educational Trip to NASA 19-06-2017

A 10-day trip to NASA was organized for the students of Classes VI to X from 28th May, 2017 to 8th June, 2017. A total of 30 students, Principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi and two teachers visited NASA – Kennedy Space Centre, Disney Land, Universal Studios in Orlando, Niagara Falls, MIT and Harvard University in Boston and New York.

At the Kennedy Space Centre, the students got the opportunity to take a bus tour around the facilities and visit a launch site.  They, also, saw the Rocket garden, Atlantis Museum, an audio-visual exhibit Heroes and Legends and a documentary on the creation of Atlantis.  The group got the chance to step into a simulator and experience firsthand a space launch.  The visit culminated with a lunch with the famous astronaut Ms. Wendy Lawrence.

The students, also, had a fabulous time at Disney Land, Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios enjoying the thrilling rides at the parks.

The journey continued on to Buffalo and Niagara Falls.  The group had an enthralling ride of the Maid of the Mist where they experienced nature’s power and beauty at the base of the Falls.

The group, then, moved to Boston where they visited the world famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University and did a city tour of the famous Boston landmarks. 

The final destination was New York where the students visited the Freedom Towers, the 9/11 Memorial, Madame Tussauds, Times Square and Statue of Liberty.

The group had an enriching experience interacting with the native people of the country learning about their culture, traditions, values and lifestyle.

Earth Day (Classes I and II) 28-04-2017

Earth Day was observed in classes I and II.A special assembly was arranged.Children spoke sentences on Earth and how to take care of it.They also recited some poems on Earth.Children were told the importance of planting more trees and keeping the earth clean.


 


Class Presentation (IV-G) 27-04-2017

‘Small acts by millions can transform the world.’

To imbibe a sense of gratitude and duty towards Mother Earth among students on the onset of Earth Day, a class presentation was conducted by the students of class IV-G. The presentation started with a wonderful skit by the students depicting the importance of Mother Earth and how to cherish life bestowed by her. The skit illustrated how the human beings are polluting the earth and depleting its resources. The young Sachdevians urged their fellow students to do their bit to protect the environment, for the future generations. The children were dressed up beautifully as river, dustbin, CFL bulb, CNG and tree. They spoke about the importance of resources of Earth and their wise usage. It was reiterated that every day should be celebrated as Earth Day. The skit was followed by a melodious song dedicated to Mother Earth in which the students pledged to be defenders and friends of Mother Earth. Every student was exhilarated to be a part of the presentation. The audience were spellbound by the phenomenal performance. The presentation concluded with the message to conserve the environment and keep our planet beautiful and green.


 


Special Assembly-Earth Day (III-V) 25-04-2017

A special assembly was conducted by the students of the Primary Wing to celebrate International Earth Day on 22 April that reminds every one of the bounties provided by Planet Earth and our collective responsibility to promote harmony with Nature. The occasion was marked by watering of the holy basil by the Principal to spread awareness of the need to nurture nature. Earth day song by the School choir reminded everyone of the selfless nature of Earth. The children took a pledge to respect and save our Earth. They promised to keep their classrooms clean, save electricity and not waste water as their bit to conserve our beautiful earth. The English and Hindi thought reiterated the need to celebrate each day as Earth Day. The Principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi addressed the students, urging them to adopt small steps on a regular basis to protect our environment for the future. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.


 


English Poetry Recitation (III-V) 24-04-2017

Environment Conservation Week has been organized for classes III to V to sensitize the students towards environment. The week started with English Poetry Recitation Competition for classes IV and V. The students expressed their feelings, articulated their thoughts and gave wings to their imagination through their poems. They became environment advocators and conveyed the message of taking care of Mother Earth. A foot-tapping song on environment conservation was sung by the students. The students performed to the best of their ability with great zeal and enthusiasm and showcased their talent and confidence.

Baisakhi Celebrations (Classes I and II) 13-04-2017

Baisakhi- the harvest festival of punjab was celebrated today in classes I and II.The children were told about the festival.They came in colourful pubjabi dresses.They also brought jalebi and punjabi food.All the students were full of enthusiasm.They enjoyed punjabi bhangra with their friends and had fun.


 


Orientation Programme 2017-18 (Class III) 12-04-2017

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

An orientation programme was organized for the students of class III on 12 April 2017. The children attended the programme enthusiastically. They were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school. They were motivated to attend School regularly and do well in academics and other activities. The students were told the importance of being disciplined and the different ways to be disciplined in class so that maximum learning can take place. Tips to enhance their attention span were also discussed in a play way manner. The students were very responsive throughout the programme. They were shown interesting videos that further guided the children towards accepted class behaviour. The interactive session guided and prodded the students to try and do the best they can.


 


ISA Activity - Research Work on Recipes (Classes III-V) 10-04-2017

‘Food is our common ground, a universal experience’

Food is one binding force that brings together people from all around the world. The students of class V reiterated this during their research on cuisines of the world for ISA Activity. They surfed the internet, browsed magazines and books to find about the popular dishes of India, France, China, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the activity where they not only learnt about the food items of different countries but also got an insight into differences and similarities of the cuisines of these countries.


 


Solo Dance Competition (Classes I and II) 15-03-2017
Dance is a form of art of expression. To enrich in stage competition Solo Dance Competition was organised for classes I and II on 15 March 2017.The children crossed quarter final and semi final level to reach the finals.All the children were dressed up in special costumes and looked colourful.The little dancers were confident.The best 3 positions were adjudged by our judges Ms.Shalini Bhatnagar and Ms.Shalini Maheshwari.Prizes were given away by our Principal Ms.Mona Rastogi.
 


Dance Competition (III-V) 07-03-2017

‘Dance is a rhythmic movement of body and steps that entertains and inspires everyone.’

India is a vast country with a diversity that is simply awesome and incredible. Our food, clothes, festivals, languages and dances have mesmerized people from around the world. The students of classes III to V presented one such visual treat through a ‘Group Dance Competition’. The captivating poetry of footsteps of the young dancers during the Bihu, Tamil, Oriya and Bamboo dance enchanted and enthralled the audience. The powerful and alluring performances left everyone spellbound and wanting for more. The Principal Ms. Mona Rastogi congratulated the students and teachers for putting up a great show.


 


Annual Athletic Meet (III-V) 01-03-2017

The school playground reverberated with the sounds of cheer and enthusiasm when classes III to V celebrated the Annual Sports Day on 1 March 2017. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the torch. Next all the athletes took oath to participate with sincerity and honesty and the Principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi declared the meet open.

The students displayed their skill at yoga and the track events began in earnest. Every athlete put up his best and took part with sportsmanship and determination. The spectators thoroughly enjoyed themselves and cheered and clapped with full gusto. The prize winners took home medals to remember their achievement and the Principal lauded the effort of the students and teachers for making the event a huge success.


 


Sports Day (Classes I and II) 01-03-2017
Annual Sports meet, a day full of enthusiasm for teachers and students was arranged for classes I and II on 1st March.All the young athletes dressed up in orange and green were full of competitive spirit and ready to capture the field.The meet began with the March Past followed by Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking ceremony by Principal Ma'am.There were variety of interesting races for tiny tots like snatch the chocolates, collect the markers,relay race etc. The audience of I and II cheered their classmates.Certificates were awarded to the winners.The meet ended up by releasing balloons and taking the happiness of the children to the heights.It was a fun filled day.
 


Cooking Without Fire (III-V) 23-02-2017

‘Cooking is not just making food but building confidence and creativity.’

 Keeping this in view the Primary Wing organized a culinary adventure – ‘Cooking Without Fire’ Competition. The little wonder chefs chose healthy ingredients and showed their culinary skills by creating mouth watering canapes and biscuit toppings. The children participated with full zeal and had a wonderful experience. The winners were appreciated for this amazing art. This activity was followed by a ‘Cleanliness Drive’. The students volunteered to clean their classrooms and understood the importance of physical well-being and healthy environment. The aim of this drive was to move one step further towards cleanliness and contribute in Swachch Bharat Mission, a movement launched by the honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.


 


Music Competition (III-V) 23-02-2017

‘Music is a piece of art that goes through the ears, straight to the heart’.

Music is the art of expressing ideas and emotions using the elements of rhythm, melody and harmony through voices and instruments. Keeping this view in mind a music competition was organized on 23 February 2017 for the students of class V. The young competitors sang Rajasthani, Garhwali, Bengali and Marathi folk songs with great zeal and gusto. The synchronization of the melodious voices and instruments was heart warming. The spell bounding performance enthralled the audience who showed their appreciation by clapping loudly after each rendition. This Competition truly harnessed the singing talent of the students and was a great success.


 


Class Presentation (IV-D) 22-02-2017

‘Be alert and enforce your rights as a consumer’.

 A small skit was enacted by the students of class IV-D to spread awareness about the manufacturing and expiry dates of the products used in day to day life. The presentation was spiced up with added flavours of fashion show, puppet show and group song. It recreated its magic and children learnt about its importance and their rights as a consumer.


 


International Mother Language Day (III-V) 21-02-2017

On this occasion, Poetry Recitation Competition was held for Class V. The students recited poems in Hindi, French and Chinese. The correct pronunciation, rhythm and intonation greatly enthralled the audience. It was wonderful to hear the children’s expressive tones as they recited poems in Hindi, French and Chinese with equal ease, moving ahead as messengers for true world peace and building a beautiful global garden. The mesmerizing dance performance in the finale was an icing on the cake. The winners were awarded certificates and applauded for their effort. 


 


Class Presentation (IV-F) 21-02-2017

Class IV F showcased their talent and creativity through the play – ‘King Lear’ by Shakespeare. The dialogue delivery, the costumes and the acting skills of the students enthralled the audience. Each child played his/her character with great zeal and enthusiasm. The main mantra of the play ‘Respect your parents and earn goodness’ was portrayed beautifully. The play ended with the song ‘Peace’ which was sung melodiously by all the students. Their efforts were appreciated by one and all.


 


Book Fair (III-V) 17-02-2017

A good book is our friend, philosopher and guide. Reading helps in creation, understanding, relaxation and gives meaning to one’s life.

Keeping this in view a Book Fair was organized in the school premises to inculcate good reading habits and bring awareness. A wide range of books and related material was displayed creating an exciting environment. The school has always put in efforts to help children excel in academics and co-curricular activities. This event has added an extra charm among the ardent readers to broaden their vision.

Class Presentation (III-B) 15-02-2017

“There are many little ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all.”

 To inculcate the habit of reading books among the children, a class presentation was organised by the students of class III-B on 15 February 2017. The students dramatized the stories of ‘Akbar-Birbal’, the famous characters from distant history who always bring a smile on our face with just the mention of their names. The presentation provided a platform for the budding artists to showcase their indomitable talent. The students were adorned with innovative, extremely beautiful and colourful costumes. The powerful performance of children was captivating. The teachers and audience were thrilled by their phenomenal performance. Kudos to the young actors of SPS! The young champs of SPS learnt the value of wit and humour in their life. It tickled their funny bones. The presentation ended with scintillating qawwali performance which motivated the young learners to read lots of books.  


 


Ballad Enactment Competition 08-02-2017

Ballads are long narrative poems that create a mesmerizing effect. An Inter house English Ballad Enactment Competition was organized for classes VI-VIII on 8 February 2017. The children presented beautiful ballads by eminent poets such as Alfred Noyes, Vikram Seth, Robert Southey, Thomas Campbell etc. They not only recited but, also, enacted the poems with enthusiasm. The judgement was on the basis of intonation, expression and acting skills of the students. The principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts put in both by the students and the teachers to make the competition a success.

Basant Panchami was observed on 1 February 2017 by the students of classes I and II. Special assembly was organized in which children presented poems and sang rhymes for goddess Saraswati. Children came in yellow dress and enjoyed yellow food.
 


Republic Day (Classes I and II) 25-01-2017

Republic Day was celebrated on 25th January 2017 by the students of SPS with great enthusiasm and fervour.
Children presented the dance on nature's bounty to spread the message of save environment. They were dressed in colourful and vibrant attires. The presentation of the tiny tots left everyone mesmerized.


 


Winter FLavour Week (Classes I and II) 20-01-2017

Winter Flavour Week was observed from 16th January to 20th January by the students of Classes I and II. Students enjoyed different winter delicacies like gajar halwa, saag, peanuts and above all stuffed paranthas and learnt their nutritional value.


 


Intra Class EVS Fancy Dress Competition (Class III) 09-01-2017

‘Dress in style, Act in style, Style is the mantra of life’

It is the constant endeavour of the school to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creativity and sensitize them towards their environment. 

An Intra Class EVS Fancy Dress Competition was organized for the students of class III. It was great fun for the kids to be dressed in colourful and vibrant attires. They depicted a great variety of themes – social, cultural, environment, health, hygiene etc. The activity was truly mesmerizing. The students spoke confidently and were appreciated for their wonderful performance. 


 


Intra Class Activity-Mathematics(III-V) 09-01-2017

‘Mathematics expresses itself everywhere in almost every facet of life’.

Children are not limited in what they can do when they have mathematical skills and to develop their interest further in this subject, intraclass activities were organized for the students of classes III-V. During ‘Show and Tell’ in class III, the children showed diverse items like mother’s wallet, models of butterfly, pizza, Taj Mahal etc. to show the use of mathematical calculations, numbers, shapes, symmetry in everyday life.

The ‘Fancy Dress’ organized for Class IV gave the children ample opportunities to show the application of Maths in cooking, architecture, sports, banking and the students of class V displayed their knowledge of Maths along with their oratory skills in the ‘Maths Speech’ activity.


 


Handwriting Week (III-V) 30-12-2016

A neat and beautiful handwriting always draws attention.

Keeping this goal in mind, the students of Classes III-V observed ‘Handwriting Week’. The primary objective of this activity was to encourage the students to improve their calligraphy skills. The response of the children was very encouraging as they left no stone unturned to achieve perfection in their handwriting and write neatly and beautifully. 


 


Computer Competition (Class IV) 28-12-2016

‘Let’s Be Digital’

We are living in a digital world and to enhance the digital creativity among the students, an Intra Class ‘PowerPoint Presentation Competition’ was organized for the students of class IV. The students made colourful PPTs on the topic ‘India- A Country of My Dreams’. This activity tested their proficiency in expressing themselves digitally. Students participated with great zeal and enjoyed creating beautiful presentations. Deserving students were awarded certificates.


 


Christmas Celebrations (Classes I and II) 22-12-2016
Christmas time is here again. The beginning of december month always reminds us of the festival Christmas. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. This year also celebration of one full week was taken up in classes I and II. The students coloured X-mas tree, bells, gift box and stockings and decorated them.They also took part in dance and carols. A short and sweet function was held and principal mam also cut the cake. All fairies and santas were looking fabulous.
 


Energy Conservation Day (Classes I and II) 14-12-2016
Energy Conservation Day was observed in classes I and II on 14 December 2016. It is very important to make today's child aware about saving energy resources like electricity and water. The discussion was taken up in classes about how to save electricity.The students also made posters on the topic with the help of their parents. Best posters were displayed.
 


RALLY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR 07-12-2016

The NCC cadets of the school organized a social awareness rally on the pressing issue of child labour. The rally was organized on 7th December 2016 in the school neighbourhood to help raise awareness for the cause. The cadets educated the public about the importance of not employing underage children in their homes, shops, factories etc. They highlighted the role of education in nation building and how we will hamper the growth of the country if our children do not get an opportunity to study and learn. They made the people aware that child labour is punishable, legal offence and that all children under the age of 14 are covered by the Right to Education(RTE) Act which makes it mandatory for them to be enrolled in schools rather than being employed somewhere.


 


Sandwich Making Activity(Classes I and II) 30-11-2016
To arise the interest of students in making something for them little chefs at work activity was taken up on 30th November 2016. The students made sandwiches of their choice and enjoyed cooking without fire.
 


Movie Time (Classes I and II) 28-11-2016
Watching movie with friends is great fun. Children learn how to behave well when they are out with teachers and friends. Movie Time was arranged for classes I and II on 28th November 2016 and 1st December 2016 respectively. Children enjoyed their favourite movie Motu Patlu and had popcorn and frooti.
 


CELEBRATION OF CONSTITUTION DAY 26-11-2016

The school celebrated Constitution Day as per the communication received from the CBSE and Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Mass reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India was conducted in all the classes. In addition to the reading, the teachers talked to the students about the importance of our Constitution and the need to respect and uphold it for national progress. Group discussions were held in the classes regarding how each one of us can contribute to the national cause. 26th November is now celebrated every year as Constitution Day and the students were encouraged to understand the basic spirit of the constitution in order to instill in them a sense of patriotism for being a part of a great nation.




Winter Bonanza ( Classes I and II ) 21-11-2016

India has variety of seasons.Same way our country is famous for variety of food as per different seasons. To make our tiny tots aware about delicious food items around them classes I and II observed Winter Bonanza Week.They brought delicacies of winter like pulao, stuffed parantha and above all gazar ka halwa in tiffin and enjoyed eating together from 21st November to 25th November 2016.


 


MATHS WEEK-CLASSES IX-X 15-11-2016

“Pure mathematics is in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.”

 

To educate the learners about the use of Mathematics in daily life, Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura held the Mathematics Week from 15 November to 18 November, 2016. Various interesting activities were conducted to engage the children. The students enthusiastically took part in brain-storming sessions such as Sudoku, Rangoli-making, Maths Quiz, Map Activity and Collage Making. These activities enhanced the cognitive and logical skills of the students. With the support of the untiring teachers, students got a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of the maths and its application in their life. Overall, it was a very enriching experience for everyone.

The man, who spent all his life fighting for a unified India, unified us again on this enriching occasion of Essay writing competition.

In the memory of birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, our school organised an essay writing competition for classes VI- VIII on 11 November 2016.

The teachers motivated and guided the students on the importance of education in the life of a student. The students participated with great fervour and enthusiasm and it turned out to be an extremely successful event altogether.

 

The students got a chance to portray their writing skills in a manner that is both qualitative and critical.


 


Card Making Competition (Classes I and II) 04-11-2016

Cards are the medium to express emotions and love for others. Students of classes I and II had Card Making Competition held on 4th November 2016 (Friday). They used their creative ideas to make beautiful cards. Five best entries were awarded in each class.


 


Diwali Craft Competition (III-V) 25-10-2016

‘Light is the harbinger of joy, prosperity and eternal bliss of the soul.’

Diwali is the perfect blend of the above attributes. It is the festival of lights and fun and fills the air with celebrations. A song in the heart, smile on the face and happiness around, marks the festivity associated with Diwali. To mark this occasion, a craft competition was organized for classes III-V on 25 October 2016. The tiny tots of classes III-V ornamented earthern diyas, made beautiful wall hangings and rangoli.A special assembly was also organized. A colourful cultural programme was held and it was enjoyed by all.The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm and showcased their talent.

Diwali Celebrations ( Classes I and II ) 24-10-2016

Diwali week was celebrated from 24th october to 28th October by the students of classes I and II. Activities like visit to the temple, diya decoration and diwali party were arranged and fully enjoyed by the children. ‘Let everyday be a ‘World Day’ against food waste’

Classes III-V celebrated ‘World Food Day’ on 16 October 2016. The official goal of the day was to heighten public awareness of world food problem and strengthen the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty. Students wrote messages on placards and spread a word, emphasising the goal of the day. They also motivated other students to come forward and do their bit in this initiative. All the students took a pledge, not to waste food, as a small step towards ending hunger in the world.

Cleanliness Drive (Classes I and II) 13-10-2016

Cleanliness is the basic habit to keep everyone healthy. Our Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi has started cleanliness drive with the name - " Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" which is being followed everywhere. He wants that every citizen f the country whether young or old must understand the importance of keeping clean. So even in schools little children are being guided how to keep their surroundings clean. Keeping this is mind students of classes I and II also took part in cleanliness drive. They made posters on cleanliness.they walked in chain around the school to spread message how to keep surroundings clean, use dustbin, grow more plants for freshness of air. They also planted saplings with the help of gardener in school. They were told to talk to their elders about cleanliness of home and surroundings.

 Another activity to indulge the children into a plethora of fun was organised on 7th October ’16. The movie was greatly rejoiced by the kids.


 


Activities in the Junior Library during Moral Values Week (III to V) 05-10-2016

‘We are all born empty vessels that can be shaped by moral values.’

Many innovative interesting activities were organized in the Junior Library for the students of Classes III to V during the Moral Values Week. The students of Class III watched moral stories in the Library periods. This was followed by class discussion wherein different moral values were highlighted. The students of Class IV read story books and drew sketches of their favourite character. The students of Class V read biographies of famous people and wrote about the qualities that inspired them the most. The thought provoking activities made learning a fun filled experience for the students which will help in character building and development of core values in the little ones. The students from all classes participated enthusiastically and their response was stupendous.

To channelize the thinking process of our young learners in a positive direction Intraclass Activity – Hindi Suvichar was organized in Classes III to V during the month of September. The participants spoke on a wide range of topics like honesty, discipline, an ideal student, punctuality, respecting elders, cleanliness etc. The activity provided the students a platform to exhibit their oratory skills and boosted their confidence further. It created awareness among the participants as well as the audience about the positive change they can bring about in their personality to contribute to the society and make the world we inhabit a better place to live in.


 


Bookmark Competition 30-09-2016

To extend the creative instinct of our little ones, we had organized a Bookmark making competition on Friday, the 30th September ’16 where the children enjoyed a lot by learning to create the bookmark with multitude of designs. Finally the bookmark was embellished upon with decorative material by the kids. 


 


Interhouse Group Song Competition (III & IV) 29-09-2016

‘Words make you think, Music makes you feel, A song makes you feel a thought.’

Music binds souls, hearts and emotions. It is a known fact that listening to music is the best form of relaxation. Considering this, an Interhouse Group Song Competition was organized for classes III & IV. The students participated with great zeal and gusto. The competition reached its zenith of excitement when the students performed exceedingly well. Each house showed its mastery over voice modulation, sur, rhythm and sang with great enthusiasm. The rhythm and the beats of the Group singing Competition resonated through Activity Hall and the response from the audience was overwhelming. The Principal Ms. Mona Rastogi congratulated the students and the teachers for putting up a wonderful show.


 


Camel Colour Contest(III-V) 23-09-2016

‘The World is but a canvas to the imagination’

Keeping this in view classes III-V organized ‘Camel Colour Contest’ for the students. The topic of the contest for  Classes III & IV was ‘My Hobby’ and Class V was ‘City Traffic’. The children participated with great enthusiasm showcasing their hobbies, artistic flavour and imagination through a splash of colours mingled with creativity and innovation. The creative hands had a wonderful experience.

 A class presentation by the students of class IV on the importance of hardwork marked the third day of the Moral Values Week. The presentation was an exhilarating affair which left every one spellbound. It was based on the famous story ‘Mungeri Lal Ke Sapne’ from Panchtantra. The message of ‘working hard’ was very beautifully put across. Every child played his role to perfection. The children were dressed up beautifully and charmed everyone with their innocence on one hand and dramatic and oratory skills on the other. The presentation was appreciated by all the teachers and students. It was truly an amalgamation of talent, creativity, team work and hardwork.

“The main purpose of life is to live right, think right and act right”

To inspire young learners to imbibe precious values that build character and foster responsible citizenship, ‘Moral Values Week’ is being observed in Classes III to V. The Principal, Ms Mona Rastogi declared the week open and motivated the students to strengthen their moral character and become an asset to the society. English Poetry Recitation Competition was organized to mark the beginning of the week as poems have always been a wonderful tool to convey a message. The participants recited beautiful poems on – hardwork, punctuality, kindness, honesty etc. with full enthusiasm and are eagerly looking forward to all the activities planned out for the week.


 


Right to Education (Classes I and II) 08-09-2016

The Right to Education for all was promoted on 8th September 2016 by the children of classes I and II. Children made posters depicting the importance of education. Also, they promised to spread education amongst others too.


 


International Literacy Day 08-09-2016

International Literacy Day was celebrated by the students of classes VI-VIII on 8th September, 2016. To spread the awareness about the importance of Literacy, a poster making and slogan writing competition was organized. The teachers guided and motivated the students that literacy is a power that transforms life and cultivates the landscape of a child’s future. All the students actively participated in the competition and came up with some excellent slogans and motivational posters which were then displayed in the classrooms.


 


Visit to Iskcon Temple (Classes I and II) 30-08-2016

The visits to different places add enthusiasm and fun in learning.The children of classes I and II were taken for a visit to the Iskcon Temple.The children enjoyed Hare Rama Hare Krishna tunes there.They had prasad and enjoyed the visit.

Janamashtmi Celebrations ( Classes I and II) 24-08-2016

Janamashtmi was celebrated on 24th August 2016. The birthday of lord Krishna was celebrated with great pomp and show.The building was decorated with marigold. The children came dressed up as little Radhas and Kanhas. All looked very pretty.They sang and danced on the tunes of Krishna bhajans.

On 24th August 2016,Sachdeva Public school celebrated Janamashtami with great zeal and enthusiasm. Tiny tots were dressed up in colourful robes of Lord Krishna, Radha, Gopies  as they commemorated the human incarnation of Lord Krishna.Also, the importance of festival was explained to the students.


 


Intraclass English Poetry Recitation Competition (III-V) 18-08-2016

Beauty is the realm of poetry. Words can be presented more beautifully when recited as a poem. The children enjoy beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings, rhyme, rhythm and music of words through poetry. Intraclass English Poetry Recitation Competition was organized for classes III to V in the month of August to provide a platform to the students to exhibit their speaking skills and expressions. Poems on a variety of topics like nature, pollution, mother, teachers, school etc. were recited by the participants. They performed to the best of their ability with great zeal and enthusiasm and showcased their talent and confidence.

Thali Decoration Competition was taken up in classes I and II to mark Rakhi Celebrations on 17th August 2016.The children really showed their creative ideas to make their thalis look special.They used different materials to decorate colourful thalis. Five best entries from each class were given certificates.


 


Craft Competition (III-V) 16-08-2016

‘Creativity is taking a simple thing and bringing it to life’.

Rakshabandhan is the deepest and noblest festival of love and an everlasting bond between a brother and a sister that has forever been able to add charm, beauty and happiness to our lives.

On the occasion of this noble festival, a craft competition was organized for the students of classes III-V. The girls showcased their creativity and innovative ideas to make beautiful ‘rakhis, photo-frames and decorative thalis’. The boys too made cards, envelopes and gift hampers very enthusiastically and innovatively.

The students used coloured paper, beads, studs, net and mirrors and happily produced their masterpieces which left everyone spellbound.


 


Intraclass News Reading Activity (III-V) 11-08-2016

‘He who is without a newspaper is cut off from his species’

It is the constant endeavour of the school to cultivate good habits like reading newspapers among the students and make them aware of the events taking place all around the globe. Keeping this in mind, ‘Intraclass News Reading Activity’ was conducted in classes III to V in the month of July. The children made use of the newspaper that they have subscribed to and prepared the news. The participants in each section read the news confidently covering international, national and sports events. Even weather report and weather forecast was included. They spoke confidently and showcased their oratory skills, making the activity a great success. The winners were awarded certificates for their stupendous efforts.


 


Independence Day ( Classes I and II ) 11-08-2016

Independence Day cum Foumder's Day was celebrated by classes I and II on 11th August 2016.
The children dressed up in colourful costumes were full of enthusiasm.They presented a dance on a patriotic song. National Anthem was also sung by tiny tots. Principal Mrs.Mona Rastogi was the chief guest of the programme. After the birthday song, she cut the cake of Founder's Day. To boost up patriotism and love for country among children whole building was decorated with tricoloured balloons, kites and flags.


 


Independence Day (LKG and UKG) 10-08-2016

On 10 th August 2016, Sachdeva Public School celebrated its Founders day and Independence day with fervor zest, enthusiasm and vigor.

Children participated in patriotic songs to celebrate Independence day. They were dressed in saffron, white and green.

The Founders day of the school was also celebrated by cutting the cake and dancing on the birthday song. 


 


Health and Hygiene Week (Classes I and II) 01-08-2016

Health and Hygiene is an important aspect of our day to day life. To keep students aware about its importance, "Health and Hygiene Week" was taken up in classes I and II from 1st August to 5th August 2016. The students made posters and had an activity of show and tell related to this topic.They were also told to bring healthy food in tiffin. A doctor's workshop was organised to tell them various ways of keeping their body healthy and fit.


 


Cultural Odyssey: The Annual Exhibition (VI-VIII) 30-07-2016

Classes VI-VIII organized ‘Cultural Odyssey: The Annual Exhibition’ in July 2016 to showcase the talent and work of students in various subjects. Separate rooms were allocated for each subject which contained a myriad display of charts, models, project work, reports and tableaux prepared by the students as part of their holiday homework.  The exhibition was attended by a large number of parents who were enthusiastically taken around by student volunteers explaining each tableaux.  The parents greatly appreciated the efforts put in by the students as well as the teachers since such events highlight the creativity inherent in each child. 


 


Nature Week (Classes I and II) 25-07-2016


Classes I and II Celebrated "Nature Week" from 25th July - 29th July 2016. Nature is gifted to us by God.We must preserve and protect it.To give this message, children made posters, planted seeds, had a nature walk in garden and a special assembly was held where students recited poems on our beautiful and amazing nature.


 


Lemonade Activity(LKG and UKG) 21-07-2016

Lemonade activity was organized for the Nursery kids.

 

Children loved making the drink and then refreshed themselves by drinking it. They also learnt few words like- stirring, sour, sweet, spoon, glass, sachet, pouring, drinking etc. it was a real fun.


 


Fitness day 21-07-2016

Fitness is not a destination, it is a way of life, was the theme of the Yoga and Fitness day which was conducted for the tiny tots.They got a chance to know how yoga embodies the unity of body and mind. The various 'Yoga asans''Pranayam'and meditation were excitedlyperformed by the children. The teachers reckoned many benefits of early rising and practising yoga and few songs on fitness were also sung.


 


Fitness Mantra(Classes I and II) 20-07-2016

Fitness Mantra was the activity for the day 20th july in classes I and II. The students were made to do different physical exercises to keep them healthy. They were also told about healthy eating habits. All tiny tots enjoyed exercises on foot tapping tunes.It was a fun day.

Annual Exhibition (III-V) 16-07-2016

Classes III-V organized the annual exhibition ‘Art Engineers – Going Global’. The event provided a platform to the young learners to display their creativity and talent. The exhibition was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal Ms Mona Rastogi. The event brought out the latent skills of the children and gave vent to their imagination. From the bright and colourful mosaic, polka dot and pixel paintings to the craft exhibits – photoframes, doll houses, earthen pots, piggy banks, ice cream carts, palanquins, flower vases – it was an unforgettable feast for the eyes. The exhibits on India, China and France provided a global dimension to the exhibition and gave an opportunity to the students to learn more about other countries.

The Principal, Ms Mona Rastogi appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers and parents in taking creativity to a new level.

Interhouse Music Competition- ‘Strings of Melody’ 13-07-2016

An Interhouse Music Competition- ‘Strings of Melody’ was organized on Wednesday, 13 July 2016. Students of class VIII gave a mesmerizing performance which kept the audience spell bound throughout the programme. The melodious bhajans by the participants spread serenity and divinity in the air with everyone swinging to their symphony and rhythm. The programme started with the Ganesha Vandana by Gandhi house followed by a bhajan highlighting the importance of teachers in a students’ life by Nehru house. The students of Bose house presented the Saraswati Vandana and Tagore house performed the Shiv Vandana. All the performances were memorable. The near perfect and effort less singing by the participants made the task of the judges even more difficult. Bose house and Tagore house secured the first position, Gandhi house and Nehru house got the second position.


 


Eat Healthy,Be Healthy (LKG and UKG) 13-07-2016

Children these days tend to binge it big when it comes to burgers, pizzas and fries. To make the children aware of the adverse effects of junk food a special assembly was conducted in the kindergarten. Through an interesting and interactive story session, the children were told the benefits of healthy food and the needto avoid junk food.

They were also told not to bring junk food in their tiffins to which they readily agreed.

The assembly concluded with the slogan:

          "Junk food is Yummy

           But not good for my tummy."


 


World Mango day (LKG and UKG) 07-07-2016

It was a mangolicious day for the children on this occasion of World Mango day . The Nursery department of Sachdeva Public School celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by organising a special assembly. 
The children also swayed with joy on the beats of rhymes related to mango. They shared and relished  delicious eatables they brought as special tiffins.

SPS INTRA MUN -2016 30-06-2016

When the power of love overcomes the love for power, only then the world will know peace. Continuing its journey of MUN, SPS organized its 3rd Intra MUN conference on 30th June, providing the students a platform for not only enhancing their knowledge, disciplinary traits, public speaking skills but also providing them with an opportunity to make sincere friends. The opening ceremony could sense the enthusiasm in the atmosphere and the students were motivated by the inspiring words of our principal ma’am, Mrs. Mona Rastogi. The delegates were well researched and their hardwork could be seen by all. The conference witnessed a debate on a vast array of topics like situation of refugees in Syria, the South-China sea dispute, etc.

 

The hardwork of secretariat members was appreciated by all. The executive board facilitated a smooth flow of information. The conference ended on a good note with the award ceremony wherein principal ma’am gave away the prizes and appreciated the students for their commendable efforts. The event marked yet another success for SPS.

Mother’s day is on 8.5.16 and this special day was celebrated in classes I and II. Children were helped by their teachers to make a special card for their mothers. They were told to give surprises to their mothers and wish Happy Mother’s Day.

International Dance Day - Classes I and II 29-04-2016

International Dance Day was observed on 29.4.16. two students Namrata of I-B and priyam of II-B performed in front of the children. Namrata presented classical and priyam staged dance of Micheal Jackson. Both the performances were great. All the students then tapped their feet on tunes of latest dance number.  English Elocution was held on 27.4.16 in classes I and II. Children recited English poems in class with expressions, intonations and voice modulations. Three best students were given certificates. One best child of each class will compete for finals on 9.5.16.

A special assembly on ‘Save Earth’ was organized where rhymes and stories related to Earth were also narrated.To conclude cute little wall hangings were made with popsicle sticks which the children greatly enjoyed. 


 


Handwriting Week (III-V) 18-04-2016

Handwriting is an important academic skill – a part of our heritage.

The Primary Wing was delighted to observe ‘Handwriting Week’ from 11 April 2016 to 18 April 2016. The aim was to help the little hands develop legible and beautiful handwriting. The children learned to write fine letters and enhanced their writing skills by writing the following paragraphs

c) Maths  – Number Names

d) Social Studies – India - My Motherland

The ‘Week’ was a great success showcasing the hidden talent of the children. The week concluded with a ‘Calligraphy Competition’. The children participated with great enthusiasm. 


 


Baisakhi Celebration - classes I and II 13-04-2016

Baisakhi was celebrated with zest and zeal in classes I and II. The building was decorated with triangular flags. Game stalls were put up. Principal mam also enjoyed playing different games with students. The students came dressed up in Punjabi dress and brought puri chhole in tiffin.

World Health Day- classes I and II 08-04-2016

7th April was world health day. In this context last week 5.4.12 to 8.4.12 was observed as Nutrition Week in classes I and II. Children were given the menu to bring healthy food everyday like vegetable pulao, puri aloo, vegetable sandwich etc. A doctor’s workshop was conducted on 7th April in which Dr. Raman Sahni(school doctor) explained what to eat and how and when to eat? He laid stress on value of milk, fruits and vegetables.

The new session began in classes I and II on April 4 with fully enthusiastic and fresh faces. Everything new around the children was making them excited. A special assembly was taken up. Classes I and II celebrated Grand Finale on 10.3.16. The year 2015, it is coming to an end. The year was full of activities and competitions. All inter-class competitions winners were given prizes by the Principal Mam. The children presented colourful dance and melodious group song. Cleanliness is next to Godliness

The cleanliness drive started by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi urging one and all to keep our country clean is spreading far and wide. Carrying this message forward, the students of Class V-B presented a Street play – ‘स्वच्छता का  महत्व ’ wherein the students not only displayed the various factors which pollute and spoil our environment but also what role the students can play to ensure cleanliness of our surroundings. The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi appreciated the efforts of students and teachers and urged them to keep their environment clean.


 


Best Out Of Waste - classes I and II 08-03-2016

The competition ‘Best Out Of Waste’ was taken up by classes I and II. The children really showed their creativity and imagination by making different objects. They made good use of waste material like jute rope, plastic bottles, tissue papers, old bulbs and CDs. Three best entries were given prizes.

Annual Athletic Meet 03-03-2016

The primary wing of the school organized Annual Athletic Meet in the school premises. The meet began with the lighting of the ceremonial torch. A scintillating display of flag march, aerobics and drills enthralled the audience. The athletes took an oath to participate with honesty and sportsmanship. The student spectators cheered with gusto during the various races – king and queen race, hurdle race, obstacle race, sack race, relay race and many more. The students won gold, silver and bronze medals. Rhino, the mascot mingled with the children adding to the enthusiasm.

The Head of the School, Mrs. Mona Rastogi urged the students to make sports and exercise a way of life and gave away the medals to the proud winners.


 


Oath taking ceremony - Classes I and II 29-02-2016

Oath taking ceremony took place in classes I and II. It was the oath on ‘Swachh Bharat’. The children were told about how Gandhi ji dreamt for a clean Mother India and now we all will take it a long way. The children promised to devote time to cleaning and keep their surroundings clean. They also promised to motivate others to do the same. They said in one voice -

Final round of art competition took place in classes I and II yesterday. The creativity of the children was worth watching. All the little artists were really engrossed in their drawing and colouring to make it best. Three best entries were given prizes in classes I and II respectively.

Solo dance competition was held on 24th February in classes I and II. The students came in relevant costumes and make up. All little dancers were excited and confident. Their expressions were par excellence. The judges announced the result and encouraged the little ones.

Safety Week(III-V) 19-02-2016

‘Safety is not just a slogan, it’s a way of life’

With this aim, the Primary Wing observed ‘Safety Week’ through a set of events to raise awareness of common dangers and the importance of staying safe. The week commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the School Principal Ms. Mona Rastogi followed by Recitation Competition on Safety. The children recited beautiful poems with proper intonation and rhythm. The Class Presentation – ‘Let’s Be Safe, Let’s Be Happy’ conveyed a wonderful message to the students about being careful and becoming ‘Safety Smart’. The other event lined up for the occasion at the school premises was a workshop conducted by Delhi Police Traffic Branch. The students participated in the workshop with great zeal. A short informative movie on road safety was also screened. Book fair was an added attraction for the children during the week. The Safety Week concluded with a Fancy Dress Show – showcasing colourful and vivid combinations of safety elements. The show gathered the students on one common platform and presented creative ways to promote safety. The Safety Week was a great success. The Principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi motivated the children to follow the safety rules in every walk of life and make safety a habit.  

 


 


Basant Panchmi Celebration – classes LKG-UKG 12-02-2016

Basant Panchmi – a day dedicated to the devotion of Goddess Saraswati was celebrated in traditional fervor on 12th February 2015.

 On this auspicious occasion, our tiny tots came dressed up in yellow attires and gave remarkable performances on devotional songs. The celebration commenced with Saraswati Vandana in which the little ones participated with great zeal and offeres floral prayers seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. The children also brought yellow food in their tiffins. In addition, a class activity was also conducted in which the children made headbands and pasted yellow and orange flowers on it.

Basant Panchmi Celebration - Classes I and II 12-02-2016

Basant Panchmi was celebrated on 12th February 2016 in classes I and II. Everywhere yellow colour was in air. Yellow flowers, yellow dress of children and teachers. A special assembly was held where Saraswati Vandana was recited. The students spoke  thoughts, lines on Basant Panchmi and poem of this festival. Show and Tell Competition 05-02-2016

Show and tell is a key part of a child’s learning development, as it helps them to organize information and builds their confidence. It also helps to improve their vocabulary and develop the skills of public speaking.

 

Show and tell competition was held on 5th February 2016, in which the little ones came up with objects which were described innovatively and creatively. They spoke about objects such as smartphone, laptop, bicycle, clock, piano, scissors, toothpaste, first-aid box and credit card to name a few. The little ones participated with a great deal of enthusiasm and their efforts were appreciated by one and all.

Food Festival - classes I and II 22-01-2016

The week from 18.1.16 to 22.1.16 was observed as food festival of India. It was picked up state wise with their special dishes. The students were told about different states' values and food famous there. The children really enjoyed eating same tiffin whole week. They brouht dhokla of Gujarat, chhole kulche of Punjab etc. It really helped them to know more about thier country.

The little ones of LKG and UKG celebrated Republic day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Children came beautifully dressed up in traditional dresses and presented captivating dances. The smart parade of the little soldiers enchanted one and all. It was a fun-filled and memorable experience for our little learners.

27th Road Safety Week 17-01-2016

The 27th Road Safety Week was observed from 11-17 January, 2016 to spread awareness about the importance of Road Safety among the students. They got an opportunity to showcase their talent as part of the week. Classes VI and VII participated enthusiastically in Painting and Poster Making Competition whereas class VIII students participated in Slogan Writing Competition with great zeal and vigour. The event was a great success as students participated whole heartedly to create awareness about the importance of following road safety rules. They were also made aware about these rules through a mobile exhibition put up by Delhi Police Traffic Branch in the school.

It was Christmas time on 22nd December for classes I and II. The whole building was giving a festive look. Children were dressed up as santas and fairies. Christmas tree was also decorated. Health and Hygiene week 13-12-2015

 

“The health of the people is the foundation upon which their happiness depends”

Keeping the importance of fitness in view, ‘Health and Hygiene Week’ was organized in the school for classes VI-VIII in the month of December. The week started with a ‘Self Defence Session’ for girls where they were taught the techniques to protect themselves and move fearlessly in the society. The boys participated in the ‘Mass P-T Drill’. Its main aim was to teach them the importance of staying fit. It was followed by a constructive workshop on ‘First Aid’ by Dr. Sahni. Thereafter, Hindi Debate Competition and Poetry Recitation Competition were organized highlighting the importance of health and hygiene. On the last day, ‘Cooking without Fire’ was conducted where the children showcased their talent by preparing healthy mouth watering dishes. Students very enthusiastically participated in all the activities and the week was a great success.

Work Experience was taken up in the classes I and II on 6th November. Students of class 1 decorated birthday cap and class II decorated diyas. It enhances the aesthetic sense and motor development of the students.

The students of Sachdeva Public School became part of ‘One Nation Reading Together’- an initiative of Scholastic to celebrate the pleasures of reading. The children read the pledge written by the celebrated and award winning author Sudha Murthy. The children celebrated reading as a pleasurable and enjoyable activity. They wrote their views on reading in the Graffiti poster provided by Scholastic. This initiative will ignite a spark of the love for reading among our children and promote the habit of reading. It will help our children to discover the treasure of books and encourage them to become avid readers.

‘Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting’.

Handwriting is an essential skill for both children and adults. Even in the age of technology, handwriting remains the primary tool of communication and knowledge assessments for students in the classroom. Classes III-V observed ‘Handwriting Week’ from 16 November’15 to 20 November’15.The aim of this event was to inculcate and promote the habit of good handwriting to enhance the students’ writing skills.

Story telling competition was organized on 30th November in classes I and II. The children narrated stories with actions and modulation of voices. Such competitions add to the confidence of the students. They also learn to fight and overcome stage fear.


 


Fruit Chaat Activity (Classes LKG-UKG) 19-11-2015

To inculcate the importance of fruits in our diet, a fruit chaat making activity was organised for the little ones.
Apples,bananas,strawberries, grapes, oranges and many other varieties of fruits were brought by the children.They greatly enjoyed munching on their own mixed fruit platters. 
They were told that fruits should be washed before eating and a variety of fruits should be included in the meals everyday.

Diwali festival and Children's Day were celebrated together. A special assembly was held.Children spoke lines on Diwali and Children's Day.New songs were sung by music teacher to entertain children.

Diwali Craft Competition (III-V) 04-11-2015

‘Light is the harbinger of joy, prosperity and eternal bliss of the soul’.

Diwali is the perfect blend of the above attributes. It is the festival of lights and fills the air with celebrations. A song in the heart, smile on the face and happiness around, marks the festivity associated with Diwali. To mark this occasion a craft competition was organized for classes III-V on 4 November 2015. The tiny tots of classes III-V ornamented earthern diyas and candles, made beautiful wall hangings and Diwali cards. The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm and showcased their creativity.

Bird Feeding Activity was taken up in classes I and II on 4th November 2015.The children were asked to bring some seeds to feed the bird. This activity teaches them to love and take care of birds.It connects them to the nature.

Diya decoration was carried out on 30.10.15. The students brought painted diyas and decorated them with different material. It arises aesthetic sense and creativity in the children. They enjoyed the activity.


 


School Swachhta Campaign 30-10-2015

“School Swachhta Campaign” was organized in the school from 1st October, 2015 to 30th October, 2015. As a part of the Directorate of Education campaign, various activities were organized to encourage cleanliness and hygiene in the school premises. Cleanliness monitors were appointed to oversee the cleanliness in the class rooms and corridors especially after the break. A painting competition, story and poetry writing were organized for classes VI to VIII on the theme of importance of hygienic surroundings and clean environment. The month culminated with a special assembly on how to maintain cleanliness around us with special focus on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi on hygiene and cleanliness.

SWINE FLU (H1N1) AWARENESS CAMPAIGN 28-10-2015

Whether you’re an adult, a kid or a teen,

Maintain good hygiene

And keep your surroundings green and clean.

 

It is rightly said that dirt and disease always go together and prevention is the best way to keep yourself and your family safe and sound. Keeping this in view, a Poster Making Competition was organized for the students regarding Swine Flu H1N1. This activity made the students aware of the Dos and Don’ts with respect to Swine Flu. It also encouraged the students to practice personal hygiene. It not only enabled them to identify the symptoms of the disease but also made them aware of the precautions to be taken to prevent it.

Classes of I and II celebrated Dussehra with great pomp and show on 20th October, 2015. Ramlila was staged. Entire Ramayan was depicted in poetic form. Our principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi inaugurated the epic stage show. All the little artists were dressed up in different mythological characters of the Ramayan. It was a great effort by the tiny tots.

Healthy food week - classes I and II 16-10-2015

Students of classes I and II observed ‘healthy food week’ from 12th -16th October, 2015 . Students were asked to bring different dishes to understand taste with a healthy twist. They were told the importance of healthy food. International food day was also observed in which children were asked to bring vegetable pasta in their lunch. They followed the menu given to them for the whole week –

CD Decoration Competition (LKG-UKG) 09-10-2015

The CD-Decoration competition based on the theme - 'Reduce,Reuse,Recycle' for the children of LKG and UKG classes was a plethora of creativity blended with fun.
The young artists found aesthetic pleasure in creating their own artefacts with junk CDs. From studded snails to sequinned elephants - lots of stuff was created by them using CDs.
Through this competition, the little ones learnt that craft is the language of material,provenance and creativity, and how little things in our hands can be transformed into beautiful art pieces.

World Vegetarian Day (LKG - UKG) 08-10-2015

FOOD FIESTA
The tiny tots of LKG and UKG classes zestfully celebrated World Vegetarian Day.The lip smacking delicacies in their tiffins were cooked with international veggies like broccoli, bell peppers, oloives, baby corn, etc.
The celebration was a perfect combination of joy and learning the fact that one should eat vegetarian food. It also promoted a value that we should love and care the animals and they should not be killed for food.
The children were encouraged to have all vegetables and fruits.
They were told about some more vegetarian food which are healthier than non vegetarian food.

THE CREATIVE INSTINCT 
Another special way of celebrating the World Vegetarian Day was the "Do-it-yourself (DIY) Approach"
The children of LKG and UKG brought paper plates and some stick-ons of vegetarian food around the world to create 'Vegetarian Platters', which was done ecstatically by them.
Knowledge about the significance of vegetarian food and adopting healthy eating habits for a better lifestyle was imparted by the teachers.
Later, the beautifully done Vegetarian Platters were put up in the school premises to promote vegetarian food.

Puppet Show (Classes III - V) 06-10-2015

A Puppet Show was organized by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on 6 October 2015 for the students of classes III-V. It was an interactive show designed to inculcate the etiquettes of travelling in the metro among the children. Imparting education through the enduring puppets Raju and Babli, was a wonderful idea and it enthralled and delighted the students. The resource person discussed the do’s and dont’s to be followed while taking a metro ride.

International Senior Citizens Day (Classes III-V) 01-10-2015

‘The elders are the treasures of a family and the happiness and prosperity of a family is dependent on the blessings of elders’.

With this aim the students of Sachdeva Public School observed International Senior Citizen Day on 1 October 2015. The children took a pledge to show their love and respect towards their grandparents and other senior citizens. They made a promise to themselves to take care of their grandparents by running little errands for them and spending time with them. The students realized the importance of obeying their grandparents and elders who are an immense source of love, wisdom and blessings. They took a vow to always love and cherish their grandparents.

Talent Week (Classes III-V) 01-10-2015

‘Great talents are the most lovely fruits on the tree of humanity’

Talent Week was organized for classes III – V from 21 September to 30 September 2015. The students welcomed the Chief Guest and Principal Ms Mona Rastogi with a beautiful bouquet and bright and cheerful faces and she declared the week open. The first day saw a heart warming presentation of the story ‘Happy Man’s Shirt’ by the students of class V. Every child played his role to perfection and the message that happiness is not to be chased but lies within ourselves was beautifully put across. The students tapped their latent creativity to make thought provoking posters on Energy Conservation and amazing greeting cards. ‘Cooking Without Fire’ had the little ones don their chef hats and prepare mouth watering salads, sandwiches and canapés which caught the eye with their appealing presentation. The Quiz Contest was a closely fought competition among the four houses with every round showing a different house at the top. The Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition gave the little ones an opportunity to present their poems on nature, moral values and patriotism. The children enjoyed the movie ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ immensely. The festive Music Competition on the final day drew out the best from the enthusiastic singers and ensured a fitting end to the Talent Week. The events during the week gave ample opportunities to the students to showcase their talent in various fields.


 


Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations- classes I and II 01-10-2015

On 1st October, 2015 students of classes I and II celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. Students were told about Gandhiji. Special assembly was held on that day. Children sang favourite bhajan of Gandhiji- Raghupati raghav raja ram. Some teachings of Gandhiji was put up on the board also. Celebration of Nationakl festival brings patriotism in students.

Classes I and II observed 1st October as International Senior Citizen day. They took a pledge in special assembly to serve and help the old poeple, to respect their grandparents and seek theri blessings.

Hindi Diwas was celebrated today in classes I and II. Hindi is our National Language and mother tongue too. To Promote the language, in morning assembly thought news and SPS news were taken up in hindi. Hindi elocution competition(final round) was conducted. Janmashtmi, the birthday of Lord Krishna was also a part of celebrations done in classes I and II. It was taken up on 4.9.15. children came dressed up as Radha Krishan. The building was nicely decorated. A corner of Lord Krishna was prepared where children were given toffees as Prasad. A cradle for baby Krishna was decorated. Dahi matki was also hung in the centre of the building.

Janmashtmi LKG-UKG 04-09-2015

Janmashtmi, the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with a touch of spirituality and religious fervour.The children looked replendant dressed up as characters like Radha, Krishna and Kansa.
Various incidents of Lord Krishna's life were depicted by the children through a dance-drama.Rocking of lord Krishna's cradle was done by the children and teachers with feelings of devotion and gaiety. The celebration was a jovial one!

Thali Decoration Competition was held on 28.8.15 in classes I and II. Children decorated thalis beautifully. They used many newideas for decorating thali. They enjoyed a lot. The competition was successful.

Raksha Bandhan is the deepest and noblest festival of love, bond and connection between a brother and sister that has forever been able to add charm, beauty and meaning to our lives.

On the occasion of this noble festival, the girls showcased their creativity and innovative ideas to make beautiful ‘rakhis’ and decorative ‘thalis’. The boys too decorated baskets and wrapped gifts very enthusiastically and innovatively.

 

The students used coloured paper, beads, studs, net, things like rice grains, cardamom and cloves from mom’s kitchen and happily produced their masterpiece which left everyone spellbound.

English Face-To-Face Competition 27-08-2015

“Express yourself with the Expression of others”.

The face is the picture of the mind with the mouth as its interpreter. The face is more honest than the mouth will ever be. In today’s world communication is revolving around on the pivot of social networking. We all need to realize the importance of face to face communication. So to represent the same Sachdeva Public School organized English face to face Competition for classes IX & X. Participants personified famous personalities & stimulated a conversation amongst them. They expressed their opinions on the topics like politics, science, sports & entertainment. Enthusiasm filled the air & the students felt a wave of happiness that ran through their minds. The winners were awarded and motivated by the inspirational words of the Principal Mam. Overall, it was an enthusiastic competition.

Rakhi making and Gift wrapping- classes 6-8 25-08-2015

India is world famous for the festivals that are celebrated here throughout the year. To mark the onset of the festive season, the students of classes VI-VII participated in ‘Rakhi Making’ and ‘Gift wrapping ‘ competition. The girls exhibited their creativity and skill in making and decorating the rakhi i.e. the pious thread of love and commitment. The boys were no less when they showcased their love for their beloved sisters. The activity turned out to be an entertaining and enjoyable experience for all the participants.

All India Camel Colour Contest – Classes III to V 24-08-2015

 

‘Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt’.

All India Camel Colour Contest 2015 was organized in the school on 24 August 2015 for the classes III to V. The students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

The topic for classes III and IV was ‘Clean India’. The students expressed their innovative ideas through their beautiful paintings. The paintings depicted the different ways by which we can keep the environment and our country clean. It was a small beginning to create awareness among the young minds.

The topic for class V was ‘Ganga – the river of life’. The students of class V highlighted the different moods of Ganga as it flows through a number of cities and states on its journey to the Bay of Bengal. It was a wonderful learning experience for the students.

Sadbhavana Diwas 20-08-2015

Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura observed Sadbhavana Diwas on 20th August, 2015 to promote National Integration and Communal Harmony among people of all religions, languages and regions Students were administered the Sadbhavana Divas Pledge in the morning assembly to inculcate in them a feeling of oneness and harmony towards all the people of India regardless of their caste, region, religion or language. The students resolved to eschew violence and to promote goodwill amongst all.


 


Green Drive by TOI 18-08-2015

Delhi- a city full of greenery not long ago is losing its charm and its  deteriorating air quality is a cause of concern. To make up for the damaged environment and bring back the lost charm, students of class VIII participated in the ‘Green Drive’ organised by TOI by planting tree saplings to make Delhi green and pollution free. Students gave prompt answers to the questions put up by the organisers which inculcated in them a spirit of awareness and responsibility. The enthusiastic and energetic participation by students lived up to the motto of the event-‘Life really grows on trees, Plant one today!’

Independence Day And Founders' Day(Classes LKG-UKG) 14-08-2015

Apart from the jovial celebrations of the 69th Independence Day of India, the Founders' Day of the school was also celebrated with revelry and mirth.
The little cherubs celebrated the Independence Day, dressed up as little soldiers and performing on some popular patriotic numbers, and singing the National Anthem.

69th Independence Day of India and 29th Founder’s Day of the school was celebrated with immense splendor and exuberance. The occasion was graced by eminent personalities from the field of education. Hon’ble Chairman of the School, Shri S.K. Sachdeva conveyed his best wishes to the students and inspired them to become harbingers of dedication and responsibility. The students presented a stimulating street play ‘Phir Parivartan Ho Ek Baar…’ which focused on the issues of great relevance – the problems faced by Indian farmers and need for Women Empowerment. The Play urged the students to unite and combat these problems.

‘Being creative is not a hobby, it is a way of life’

An Intra Class Competition – ‘Making PowerPoint Presentation’ was organized for the students of class V. The tech savvy students made colourful creative PPTs on the topic- ‘Festivals of India’.

They covered a vast range of festivals – National, religious and harvest by giving examples of each kind from different parts of India.

This activity provided the students a platform to showcase their technical skills. They used the given pictures, their skill at animation and created beautiful presentations. The innovative ideas reflected in their work and left the teachers spellbound.

Independence Day and school’s Founders Day was celebrated by classes I and II on 12th August, 2015 with full zest and zeal. Such celebration of national festival inculcates patriotism in children. Safety week- classes I and II 07-08-2015

Safety week was observed by classes I and II from 3rd- 7th August, 2015. The students were told how to be safe on roads, in school and at home. The students were made familiar with different traffic signs they see on road. A worksheet was done in which students colored the road signs. They even made First Aid box and learnt basics about first aid. A mock drill was organized to make the children aware how to escape in emergency like earthquake or fire without creating panic.

EXHIBITION 3 TO 5 – GLOBAL FIESTA 01-08-2015

The world is a global village and we at Sachdeva Public School aim to instill a strong global dimension into the learning experience of our children and expand their horizons.

Keeping this in view the primary wing of School organized an Art and Craft Exhibition- ‘Global Fiesta’ on 1 August 15. The holiday homework of the students was displayed. It was given an international dimension to inculcate global outlook and skills among the students. The children exhibited their creative and asthetic talent through art and craft items of different countries. The display comprised of Japanese fans, decorative Indian clay pots, Chinese dragons, Italian pasta jewellery, masks of different countries and many more. The entire hall came to life dazzling with vivid patterns and colours. The marvelous collection of various pieces of handwork was a visual treat for all. The parent fraternity attended the exhibition and praised the efforts of the students and teachers. The Principal, Mrs Mona Rastogi highly appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers.

International Tiger Day 29-07-2015

International Tiger Day was celebrated on 29th August, 2015 by the classes of I and II. The students dressed up as tigers and spread the message “SAVE TIGER, SAVE WILDLIFE”. The children colored the posters of tiger and the best posters were displayed in the building. The students motivated to stay connected to the nature.


 


Science exhibition – INFINITY 25-07-2015

A science exhibition – ‘INFINITY ……. Science Unlimited’ was organized on Saturday, 25 July 2015 with great zest and vigour. Students from classes VI to XI exhibited various models and projects. Special emphasis was laid on the Kitchen Garden to commemorate the year 2015 as the International Year of Soils.  Healthy juice of wheat grass which prevents ailments was also available in the kitchen garden as the ‘Green Blood’.

Various illustrative models and research based projects based on themes – energy conservation, environment, Health and Hygiene, Disaster Management were presented. Various exciting games and activities based on scientific principles were also included which marked the celebration of the International Year of Light.

The parents and the guests were highly impressed by the innovative ideas and excellent presentations. School Chairman, Shri S.K. Sachdeva appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and congratulated them on the success of the event.

A unique and grand exhibition, unveiling the Creative Holidays Homework done by the little ones, was organised on 25th July 2015.
It was a sheer delight to look at the extraordinarily beautiful Flower Vases, Birdie's Royal Abodes, Candy Trays, Bathroom Organisers, Curtain Hangings, Paper Huts, Robots, to name a few.
The spotlight of the exhibition was a power- packed folk dance performance by the little angels which was highly appreciated by all.

Role Play Competition- classes I and II 20-07-2015

An Intra-class Role Play Competition for students of classes I and II was organized on 20th July. Enthusiastic students of the classes enacted as their favourite cartoon characters or famous personalities like doraemon, chhota bheem, Narendra Modi, Kiran Bedi, Indira Gandhi, Rani Laxmi Bai etc. the children mesmerized everyone with their dialogues and actions. This competition helped the students to enhance their speaking skills as well as confidence.


 


Nutrition Week- classes I and II 17-07-2015

 

“A healthy diet leads to a healthy mind and soul”. In order to inculcate the habit of eating nutritious food, “Nutrition Week” was observed by the classes I and II from 13-17 July, 2015.

The children followed the nutritious menu given for the lunch. Discussion on body building, protective and energy giving food was taken up in the classroom. Children were asked to bring the pictures of various types of food and paste under the appropriate heading. Those charts were displayed in the classroom.

Investiture Ceremony 17-07-2015

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.

Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura appointed the new students’ Council (2015-16) for the school in a resplendent investiture ceremony.  The event started by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati through the pious Saraswati Vandana.  Thereafter, a grand oath ceremony took place.  The council comprises of Head Boys and Head Girls for Primary, Middle and Senior School, Sports Captains and Vice Captains and Captains and Vice Captains of the four houses.

The new students’ council vowed to fulfill all the responsibilities and duties with allegiance and integrity.  They pledged to uphold the ideals and ethics of the school and work towards the accomplishment of its goals.  The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi congratulated the members of the students’ council and inspired them to work with utmost devotion and sincerity

SPS MUN-Intra 2015 26-06-2015

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organized its third Intra Model United Nations Conference on the 25and 26 June 2015 marking a great beginning of a horizon of interactive learning for the students. The opening ceremony was commemorated by the lighting of the lamp by our Principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi followed by her inspiring speech. The Secretary General, Shubham Malhotra declared the conference open. The delegates put forward a remarkable show of intelligence, hard work and expertise in showcasing a discussion on a vast array of world issues like women safety, women empowerment, protection of civilian rights etc. Their enthusiasm was appreciated by all present in the conference. The executive board facilitated a smooth flow of information. The two day session concluded with the award ceremony wherein, our principal ma’am gave away the prizes and appreciated the students for their commendable efforts. The event marked a great success and an unusual blend of modernity and tradition

ENGLISH POETRY ENACTMENT COMPETITION 15-05-2015

Poetry is a spontaneous, overflow of powerful emotions in the rhythmic manner that can create a mesmerizing effect. The school organized an Inter House English Poetry Enactment Competition for the students of VI to VIII.  The children recited beautiful poems by eminent poets like Sir Walter Scot, Vikram Seth, Mary Howitt etc. The students not only recited the poems but also exhibited their talent by enacting them.  The performance of the students was par excellence and it left the audience spell bound.  The judgment was on the basis of intonation, expression and acting skills of the students.  The school’s Principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi congratulated the students for their active participation.

Incredible India Week 15-05-2015

India – the five letter word is a Power, a Diversity so strong, a story which has been there for long.  Times have come and gone, but the aura is still fresh, which makes it Incredible.

 A whole week was dedicated to the diverse variety of culture, language, cuisines, styles and dressing in India.  The classrooms looked like the replica of different states of India.  The posters and handicrafts made by the children added colour and life to each class.  The students tasted the various flavours/cuisines of different parts of India.  The students expressed their views about their respective states in the form of discussion and a power point presentation. A colourful folk dance programme was also conducted spreading the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’.

French Competition 15-05-2015

 

A French Interhouse Singing Competition was organized on 15 May 2015 for classes VI-VIII. The main objective of the competition was to promote young talent and also to inculcate culture of France in students. It helped the children to enhance their vocabulary as well as to improve their pronunciation of the French language. This exposure motivated them to learn and use this foreign language in their day to day life. Even the audience responded very enthusiastically by reciting a few poems in French there and then only. To sum up, we can say that students gave energetic performance which left the spectators spellbound.

Movie Time (III-V) 23-04-2015

A movie show was organized for the students of classes III-V. The children were shown the Disney movie – ‘Cinderella’. The fun filled movie not only entertained the children but also inculcated the value of being helpful, kind, humble and optimistic in the children. The students had great fun.


 


Fitness Week 20-04-2015

‘Fitness is the key to a dynamic personality.’ Keeping this in view ‘The Fitness Week’ was observed in our school in the month of December. To warm up the students, a ‘Mass Pt. Drill’ was taken up for the students of classes VI-VIII. It was followed by a workshop on ‘First Aid’. The next activity based on Herbal plants was conducted in the classes in which the students spoke about medicinal values, uses etc. of these plants. Thereafter, a Hindi Radio-show was organized that highlighted the need to be healthy and fit. Last but not the least, a competition titled ‘Cooking without Fire’ was organized in which students prepared mouthwatering delicacies and garnished them in excellent styles. The week gave the students the opportunities to showcase their talents in various fields.

International Yoga Day 20-04-2015

Amid the cheers and chants that preceded the International Yoga Day a ten day workshop was conducted at Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura to commemorate International Yoga Day on June 21 which is a global celebration of Indian heritage.  The students were enlightened on value and benefits of Yoga in their lives.

Undeterred by lashes of rain that hit different parts of the country, people from all walks of life joined to be a part of maiden International Day of Yoga. With earnest endeavours to attain healing, health and spirituality from within to spread the message of ‘Yoga for harmony and peace’.

 24 students of Sachdeva Public School reached India’s ceremonial boulevard, Rajpath, now dubbed as ‘Yogapath’ witnessing a massive gathering of an estimated 35,000 people. With spirited and enthusiastic participation, our students became a part  of the event which will be included in Guiness World Record and the credit for initiating the move goes to the Prime Minister of India – Shri Narender Modi.

41 students and a few staff members also vivaciously participated in various Yoga camps held at Happy Model School, Janak Puri and Ryan International School, Rohini respectively to mark the global celebration of India’s great heritage.

Magic Show (III-V) 16-04-2015

The academic session 2015-16 for the students of classes III to V began on a happy note. A spectacular magic show was organized for them on 16 April 2015. Various entertaining tricks performed by the magician left the students spellbound. The children participated enthusiastically in all the activities performed by the magician. This event provided moments of sheer delight to the children.


 


Orientation- “The Secret of getting ahead is getting started” 08-04-2015

With this view in mind, the school organized an Orientation Programme for the students of Class X on 8th April, 2015. The Principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi kindled the spirit of motivation and enthusiasm with her aspiring words. The importance of scholastic and co-scholastic skills was the key factor of the programme. The students were reminded about the assessment system, requirement of attendance, Problem Solving Assessment and the grading pattern of CCE. The children were also acquainted about various possible streams that can be taken after Class X.


 


MOCK DRILL 07-04-2015

The impacts of natural and human induced hazards are increasing with population growth and climate change. Owing to the fact that Delhi and its surrounding areas fall in high risk seismic zone, mock drills are conducted in our school. To assess the response of the students in times of emergency an earthquake mock drill was conducted on 7th April, 2015. The evacuation operation started immediately after the alarm bell alerted the students about the earthquake.  As per the evacuation plan the students evacuated the classroom and gathered in the open area safely. The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi explained different improvised methods to be followed by the students while rescuing and evacuating in such emergency.

To highlight the onset of spring season, Basant Panchmi was celebrated in full festive fervour.The children were excited to bring yellow eatables in their tiffins.
A special Assembly was held where all the students and teachers joyfully sang songs related to Basant Panchmi.The children were told that this festival begins the period of joy and spiritual awakening. 


 


Visit to the Park 11-02-2015

A recreational visit to the park was organised for the tiny tots to provide children a refreshing change from their daily class routine.It was a new adventure and a chance to explore their surroundings along with their peer group.The visit enabled them to learn to share their experiences of nature.
The swings were an element of delight for them.The children were excited to play games with their teachers.Different races were conducted to make the visit more exciting and playful. 


 


French Quiz 05-02-2015

 

Sachdeva Public School,Pitampura organised a French quiz in February 2015.The students of classes IX and X enthusiastically participated.The quiz was held in their respective classes.A questionaire was prepared to test their knowledge about the french grammar and literature.The objective of the quiz was to encourage the students to solve simple questions and respond to them in french language.The teacher was overwhelmed and impressed by the efforts of young french learners and their love for french language.

To celebrate the spirit of patriotism, Republic Day was celebrated with sheer enthusiasm.The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony. Children dressed as soldiers amazed the audience.The tri colour attires worn by the little ones sparked the spirit of 'Being Indian'.

World Mango day(LKG and UKG) 31-12-1969

It was a mangolicious day for the children on the occassion of World Mango day. The Nursery department of Sachdeva Public school celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by organising a special assembly.

Christmas celebrations- classes I and II 24-12-2014

Christmas- the most awaited festival by children was celebrated by classes I and II on 24.12.14. The children came dressed up as Santa/Fairies. Principal mam cut the cake and decorated the christmas tree along with children.They enjpyed singing Jingle bell along with other Christmas song. The students wrote a letter to Santa in which they told their wishes

GANIT WEEK

The  study of Mathematics leads to logical and analytical thinking and its learning and teaching enables better understanding of the related subjects. Keeping this in view, Maths Week was organised in Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura from 16.12.2014 to 22.12.2014. During this week the brief history of the great mathematician Sh. Srinivasa Ramanujan was shown in all the classes through power point presentation. The significance of Magic Square created by Sh. Srinivasa Ramanujan was also depicted in the form of a movie. This week also included the, screening of the movie ` Shock Waves’ produced by Vigyan Prasar. The week concluded with lectures by     Maths teachers on the innovative techniques and their uses in the class rooms.

A fun filled game reinforcing the English alphabet was organized for the UKG children. Each child picked up the object related to the letter marked on his hand and then stepped on the same letter on the floor.

The game was accessorized with little attractive objects placed on big tables. The children learnt and enjoyed hand in hand. The activity restored the vigor in each one of them and kept them in full enthusiasm from the onset till the end. The children were delighted throughout the activity, which was overall exciting event!


 


Baisakhi Celebration

Classes 1 and 2 celebrated Baisakhi on 11th April ‘14. Girls came dressed up beautifully in Punjabi suits of vibrant colours. Boys looked dashing in kurta-pyjamas and jackets. Children visited gurudwara and had Prasad. They danced on bhangra beats and had fun.


 


World Health Day

Nursery wing celebrated the World Health Day on 7th April ‘ 14 in full zest. Children were explained about the significance of good health.

Flash cards related to the ways to keep our body clean were given to a few children who went to each class to spread awareness about good health. The children acquired a good knowledge about World Health Day.


 


CLASS PRESENTATION BY III-C

‘Make this Earth green and beautiful.’ This message was beautifully put across by the students of class III-C today in their class presentation- ‘Each One, Plant One’. The students dressed in beautiful colourful costumes highlighted the importance of trees and plants in our life and laid stress on the need to conserve the greenery around us. 


 


CLASS PRESENTATION BY IV-G

A new year marks a new beginning. It’s the time for new aims and goals, new decisions and resolutions. This was highlighted by the students of class IV-G, in their class presentation, ‘Happy New Year’. The students spoke with great confidence and conviction and motivated the children to make every coming year better than the previous one.  


 


DANCE COMPETITION III-V

Dance comes naturally to a child.

The morning rains set the mood and the primary wing enjoyed the ‘Solo Dance Competition’.The students of Class III performed at peppy numbers and the students of Class IV showed their skill at Indian classical dance. The flexibility of the body was displayed by the graceful dancers of class V.

Appreciate Goodness in Others

‘Appreciate Goodness in Others’ – was the topic of the class presentation of V-A. The message- ‘Appreciation makes a huge difference and changes the life of people’,was conveyed beautifully.

 Music is said to be the speech of angels. And today angels from heaven descended on the earth filling the environment with sweet music-  giving wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything, when a ‘Group Song Competition’ was held for primary classes.

DANCE COMPETITION LKG and UKG

                                            “Dance is the hidden language of the soul”

The dance competition held on 7th March’ 14 for classes LKG and UKG was an event that revivified the spirit of dance in everyone. It was a reveling experience for both the teachers and the children. The children, clad in sparkling costumes, were all elated to dance. Fanatic to showcase their vigorous moves, they were a delight to watch. Each one of them painted a smile on our faces.

CHARACTER DRAMATIZATION- LKG & UKG

The character dramatization activity was an exciting event, boosting the confidence of the pre-schoolers. The children looked resonant, dressed up as community helpers, including chef, greengrocer, fashion designer, doctor, teacher etc. every participant spoke a few lines on his/her  character, accentuating the importance of work done by him/her. The activity was overall a blend of fun and knowledge for them.


 


FUN GAMES-LKG & UKG

For the preschoolers, playing games is always the best way to enjoy. Games, with tinges of fun and frolic, were organized for the kids on 24th February. Each class played a game of its own, ensuring the participation of every child. Races, stacking the glasses, threading the beads, collecting coins and balls were some highlights of the games, which enabled the kids to reveal their playful side and developed sportsman spirit waiting to take turns to play.


 


REPUBLIC DAY- LKG & UKG

This republic day celebration saw the pre schoolers  in lots of zest. Disseminating the glory of India’s vivid culture, they put forward wonderful performance, swaying to the tunes of patriotic songs. Dressed as Army, navy and Air force   officers, the children succeeded to enthrall everyone. It was overall a celebration that was truly full of sheer love and respect for India. The children learnt about the ceremonies parade that takes place on raj path and various other festivities of Republic Day.

Earth Day 2014 NURSERY

The earth day was celebrated in the school on 22nd April’14 with lots of fervor. The children dressed as earth, trees and paper bags looked quite attractive. They spread awareness about the ways to save earth by means of a campaign within and outside the school premises. Saving water, using CNG and planting more trees was emphasized upon. They distributed little cut-outs of trees to the people they met on the way. Saplings were later planted by them in the school garden. They spread the important message: - “Plant a tree today, make the earth live longer”.


 


Hindi Recitation Classes 1 and 2

Hindi recitation competition was held on 01 Dec 2014. Children recited the poem with expressions and great enthusiasm. Beautiful props related to the poem were used. Voice modulation of few children was par excellence. Certificates were awarded to the children who stood 1st and 2nd


 


Story Telling classes 1 and 2

Listening stories is fun for all children which students of classes I and II enjoyed on 23rd April’14. Children narrated moral based stories with expressions and a good accent. Appreciation was given in the form of certificates to the deserving ones.


 


Show and Tell classes 1 and 2

Show and tell competition was held on 24th April’14. Students of classes I and II showed different objects and spoke about them with full confidence. Certificates were awarded to the ones who spoke the best.


 


Healthy Children, Happy Children

Under a campaign ‘Healthy Children, Happy Children’  initiated by the students of Shri Ram College of Commerce, a Puppet Show was organized for the children of classes III and IV. The show highlighted the importance of five main elements- Hygiene, Nutrition, Exercise, Immunization and Environment. The show was very informative and entertaining as well.

Children of classes 1 and 2 enjoyed their favorite activity- coloring of cartoons on 29th april’14. They were given the opportunity to choose the cartoon of their choice- chhota bheem, chutki, doraemon etc.


 


Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organizes MUN

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organized the Model United Nations Conference 2014 in  which the students of classes VII to XI represented different countries as delegates and the committees presented their views on cold war and racism. The children participated and presented their view point with great zeal and enthusiasm and were awarded for their prowess. Sh. S. K. Sachdeva, the Chairman of the school appreciated the efforts put in by the students and motivated them to actively engage in dialogue and debate and co-develop thoughtful consensual options on complex global issues.

Mother's day

Mother's day was celebrated by classes I and II. Children made certificates with their hand prints on them for their mothers. Children were enthusiastic while doing the activity.


 


Visit To Nasa

An  educational trip to NASA was organized for the students of Class VI to XII. A group of 44 students, 4 teachers and Vice Principal went on a 12 days trip to USA from 8th May to 20 May, 2014.  During this trip, the group visited Washington DC, NASA-Kennedy Space Centre, Disney Land, Universal Studios in Orlando, New York, MIT and Harvard University in Boston.

At Kennedy Space Centre, they got the opportunity to visit the launch area, Rocket Garden, Atlantis Museum and saw a documentary of creation of Atlantis.  The group also had lunch with the famous, astronaut Mr. Bruce Melnick and learnt a lot about space science.

After  this funfilled learning experience, the students had a great time at Disney land and Universal studios enjoying the thrilling rides at the parks.  The visit to Cocoa Beach added a lot of excitement to the trip.

The journey continued with a visit to New York – the city of Sky Scrapers.  The group saw Empire State Building, Times square, Ground Zero and Statue of liberty.

At Washington D.C., the group had a great time visiting the White House, Lincoln Memorial and Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

The trip came to an end with a visit to world famous MIT and Harvard Universities at Boston.

The students had a great time interacting with the native people of the country, learning about their culture, traditions and life style. The first international trip of the school was indeed a great learning experience that students and teachers would cherish forever.

Meditation helps to enhance the concentration and teaches to control emotions. A meditation session was arranged for classes I and II today to help them to learn discipline of their body and mind.

Drawing and coloring has always been one of the favorite activities for the children. To enhance imagination and creativity of students ‘on the spot art competition was arranged for the classes of I and II on 16th july,2014. The children really enjoyed.

Keeping in mind safety of children, an activity of cooking without fire was planned for students of classes I and II on 21.7.14. they made tasty green sandwiches and enjoyed eating them.


 


Celebrate Mango Day

It was a sweet and juicy morning for Sachdevian kids who enjoyed the Mango Day celebrated on 16th July 2014. Children were told about the mango being the king of fruits not just for its taste and super flashy yellow colour but also for the array of health benefits it offers.

Bird Feeding

To arise sense of responsibility towards nature, the students of classes I and II were made to feed the birds in their school ground on 29.8.14 and they were guided how to look after birds and animals.


 


‘Glimpses of Nations’ Treasures’

An exhibition ‘Glimpses of Nations’ Treasures’ was organized on 19 July as a part of ISA activities to give a global dimension to the curriculum.

The students displayed their brilliance and creative genius in making outstanding monuments of India, China and France- the grand Arc de Triomphe, the majestic Eiffel Tower, the imposing Great Wall of China, the imperial Temple of Heaven along with Delhi’s iconic Red Fort, Qutub Minar and India Gate. The school head Ms. Mona Rastogi lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the exhibition and appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers. The visitors were left captivated by the skill and flair, on display, of their little ones and were full of praise. The students came out richer with an appreciation of the cultural diversity of the nations of the world.

Exhibition I and II

Annual exhibition of holidays homework by classes I and II held on 2-8-14. It was inaugurated by the head of the school Mrs. Mona Rastogi by lightning the lamp. The creative things made by the students were displayed in an organized manner. Parents appreciated the skill and creativity of the students.

Music is liked by everyone. It keeps the mind fresh and active. Music workshop was organized on 25.8.14 in classes I and II to teach rhythm and arise aesthetic sense. The students really enjoyed singing in tunes.


 


Independence Day and Founder's day Celebration

The school celebrated the Independence Day and 28th Founders Day with great fervor. Many eminent personalities from the field of education graced the occasion with their presence. The honourable Chairman of the school, Shri S.K. Sachdeva conveyed his blessings to the students. He inspired them to be dedicated and and responsible citizens of the country. Mr. Anil Sachdeva, respected member of the management presided over the function and motivated the children to work towards nation building. The highlight of the event was a mesmerizing ballet ‘Chalta Rahega Ye Caravan’ which enraptured the audience. A street play ‘Delhi’ was also performed by the senior students. The play depicted the glorious past of Delhi. It further portrayed how Delhi’s glory was devastated by the monster of terrorism. The play urged the students to wake up, gather courage and fight against terrorism. The Head of the school, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, congratulated the students and staff for the success of the event.

On 14th August 2014, Sachdeva Public School celebrated Janamashtami with great zeal and enthusiasm. Tiny tots were dressed up in colourful robes of Lord Krishna, Radha and Gopies as they commemorated the human incarnation of Lord Krishna. Also the festival\'s importance was explained to the students.

Investiture Cermony

 

Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura appointed the new students’ council for the school in a splendid investiture ceremony.  The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the Ganesh Vandana. A mesmerizing rock band performance captivated the audience.  Thereafter, a grand Oath taking ceremony took place. The council comprises of Head Boys and Head Girls from Primary, Middle and Senior School, Sports Captains and Vice Captains and Captains and Vice Captains of the four houses.

 

The new students’ council pledged loyalty and sincerity to uplift the standard of excellence of the school. They vowed to uphold the ideals and values propagated by the school.   The Head of the School, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, expressed her complete confidence in the ability of the new students’ council.  She motivated them to work with utmost devotion and sincerity.

Independence Day and Founder's day Celebration- NURSERY

 

On 12th August 2014, Sachdeva Public School celebrated its Founders Day and Independence Day with fervor zest, enthusiasm and vigor. Our little toddlers performed on various activities.

A birthday song was sung and the students actively participated on it.

Various patriotic activities were also presented which created an atmosphere of national pride. Children were dressed up in saffron, white and green colour. It was a rich learning experience for the students who cherished the value of freedom and patriotism.


 


Sprouts Day- I and II

A diet of sprouted seeds gives us better nutrition. They are healthy for all and keep us fit and active. Sprouts Day was observed on 8.9.14 by the students of classes I and II. Children enjoyed the delicious and different varieties of sprouts in the class.


 


Plantation Day- classes I and II

Trees are our best friends. They play a major role in conserving our environment. Plantation Day was observed on 9.9.14. During this event, seeds were sown by the students of classes I and II. It created a great enthusiasm among the students. Children will look after the seed sownby them and will water them everyday to see how it turns into a beautiful green plant.

An ISA activity on comparative study of flags of India, China and France was organized for the students of class V on 22 August 2014. This activity gave the students an opportunity to not only know more about these countries but also honour and respect their flags preparing them to be the global citizens of the interconnected world.

 The endeavour by the students to spread the message of conserving the environment held the audience spellbound. Small tips by the students like switching off lights, turning off taps, following the 3R’s, using public transport and many more will go a long way in building compassionate citizens of the green world.


 


GREEN WEEK - GROUP SONG COMPETITION
Music is the essence of life. It opens up a whole new world of experience that further enhances the mind, physical coordination and expression. An Inter-House Group Song Competition was organized for classes III-V. The children sang melodious songs, praising the beauty of nature and also the various ways in which we can protect it. The presentation was a learning experience as the children understood various ways of conserving the environment.
 


Dandiya Raas ISA Activity - Classes I and II

Dandiya a popular dance form of gujarat done especially in navratris. This dance activity was arranged in classes I and II on 30th september. The girls came in dressed up in beautiful lehngas and boys in smart kurta and jeans. They enjoyed dancing with sticks on popular foot tapping songs. The atmosphere was full of ryhtm and enthusiasm. The little ones were thrilled dancing with thier teachers and friends. It has been a lovely experience and a good beginning of festive season.

Mask Making Activity for ISA in the school- class LKG & UKG

 

A Mask Making activity for ISA was organised in the school.

The children participated in it with intense fanaticism. Making the masks of National animals of various countries was quite exhilarating for them. Hearty and avid efforts by the children could very clearly be seen.

Little Knick-knacks like beads, glitter, tinsels, and ribbons were used by them to adorn their masks.

The completion of activity put forward exquisite animal masks which were delight to watch!

Bandhanwar  making competition was held today (14.10.14) in classes I and II. The students used their creative ideas and were very enthusiastic in making beautiful bandhanwar. Such competition bring out creative skills of the children and help in their motor development. They feel confident when they make something with their own hands though under the guidance of teachers and parents. Best entries were awarded in each class.

Special Assembly on Cleanliness

 

‘Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct, they are matters of education and like most great things , Let’s cultivate a taste for them’.

 Classes III to V organized a ‘Special Assembly’ on cleanliness as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The students stressed on the need of a clean and healthy environment as it is  a part and parcel of the quality of life that we deserve for ourselves. The school choir presented a beautiful song emphasizing the role of students in keeping our surroundings clean. The children also took a pledge to keep the classrooms clean at all times. The School Head, Ms. Mona Rastogi motivated the students to keep the surroundings clean and devote themselves towards the cleanliness of our motherland.


 


Diwali Mela- classes I and II

Diwali Mela was organized in classes I and II on 21.10.14. Different game stalls were put up. The head of the school inaugrated mela. The students looked beautiful in colourful dresses. They enjoyed playing games. The school had a festive atmosphere.


 


Deepawali celebration classes III-V

It marks the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair.

 

Diwali was celebrated at the grounds of SPS with great fun and frolic. A fascinating extravaganza was performed by the students of classes III to V which added charm and religious fervour to the atmosphere. The children took a pledge to celebrate an eco-friendly and environmentally safe Diwali. The school had an ambience of joy and happiness.


 


World Food Day ( ISA Activity) - 6 to 8

‘Feeding the world

Caring for the Earth’

On 16 October 2014, Students of the ‘Connoisseurs Club’ of class VI took the initiative to celebrate ‘World Food Day’ observed by ‘ Food and Agriculture Organization – United Nations’. They made paintings using different food items like colorful cereals, pulses, dry fruit peels and sago. They also designed and prepared a few greeting cards for the partner country.

Thereafter, they took a pledge to eliminate hunger from the Earth and replace sad tears to tears of joy.

Reading is an important skill to learn a language. To promote this skill paper reading competition was held in classes I and II today. The students read lines with proper pronounciation, stress and intonation. The topic given was 'uses of computer' and 'uses of mobile phones'. Best students were given certificates.


 


Character Drmatization

Character Dramatizatin was held today i.e. 31.10.14 in classes I and II. Such competition add to the confidence of the students and they learn to face the audience without stage fear. The children did well and spoke confidently while performing different characters of fairy tales and politics. Best wishes were given certificates.


 


CLEANLINESS DRIVE- CLASSES VI TO VIII

 

Classes VI-VIII had organized a ‘Cleanliness Drive’ in the month of October during which various activities like collage making, poster making, slogan writing, awareness campaign, essay writing etc. were conducted. Students participated whole heartedly with great enthusiasm

ISA ACTIVITY- Fashion Show cum Debate (classes 6 to 8)
A fashion show cum debate competition was organized by the students of class VIII as a part of ISA Activity. The students gracefully walked on the ramp representing the models from Delhi and Paris in excellent attires. Followed by this, there was a debate on the topic ‘Impact of Fashion on Today’s Youth’ where the students representing some famous Delhi- based personalities expressed their views on the topic. Everyone enjoyed the spectacular show that concluded on the note that ‘Fashion is not only in dresses but is in our ideas and thoughts and the great thing about fashion is that it always looks forward.’

Swach Bharat Abhiyaan- Class LKG and UKG

A rally on Swach Bharat Abhiyaan was organised on 17th October 2014. Children carrying posters on cleanliness conducted the rally around school premises. A few nearby residents also joined in to cheer the tiny tots.

The rally was overall a great effort to spread awareness on cleanliness.

 

 


 


National Unity Week

The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was observed all over the country on 31 Oct, 2014 to mark the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Keeping this in view various activities were organized in our school that conveyed the message of unity, safety and security among students.

1.       The students worked in groups and prepared posters and collage on the topic – ‘Our Iron Man- A source of strength’.

2.       Several students participated in Group Discussion about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patels’s contribution in making India a single unit in spite of all odds.

3.       The students also took a pledge to preserve the unity, integrity and security of our country and also to spread this message among their fellow beings.

 It was a remarkable effort that enabled the students to realize the significance of ‘unity’ and the ways to maintain it.  

 

 


 


Vigilance Awareness Week

Corruption can be termed as the most challenging evil prevailing in the present society. Taking a step forward in this direction ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ was observed in the school from 27 Oct to 1 Nov, 2014. The students participated in the slogans writing on ‘Root out corruption before it roots in you’. The budding artists were full of enthusiasm and tried their best to depict some ways to uproot corruption from all levels of society.  


 


SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION- CLASSES I AND II

Show and tell competition was held today i.e. 7.11.14 in classes I and II to boost the confidence of the students and give everyone a chance to participate. The students spoke lines with full confidence and voice modulation. They used relevant props also to make their lines effective and meaningful.


 


Dr. C.V. Raman's birth celebration ceremony

Students participated in CBSE Expression series on ‘Young Scientific Minds of India’ to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. C.V. Raman on 7th November 2014.

 

They expressed themselves through various self written articles that gave an insight into students writing skills and provided them opportunity to express their scientific minds.


 


Handwriting Week (III to V)

      Classes III-V will be observing Handwriting Week from 24 November

      2014 to 28 November 2014.

      The following paragraphs will be done in the respective subjects  

      during the week. The week will end with a Calligraphy Competition.

One Nation Reading Together 2014

The students of Sachdeva Public School will be participating in ‘One Nation Reading Together 2014’ – a drive by Scholastic on 28 November 2014.


 


ISA Activity (Project on Environment Conservation)

‘Our environment, the world in which we live and work, is mirror of our attitudes and expectations.’

Sweet melody of the song ‘Go Green’ echoed in the environs of Sachdeva Public School when the students of classes III to V lent their voices to the ‘Green Anthem’ – moving a step further and instilling a sensivity towards the need to preserve our environment.

 

The School Head, Ms Mona Rastogi motivated the students to take on the ‘Go Green’ challenge and make our earth a better place to live in.


 


Ramp Walk Competition classes I and II

Ramp walk competition was held today in classes I and II. It was really wonderful to watch the little models walking on the ramp in style. The theme taken up was healthy & junk food. The Children were very confident and dressed up smartly vice principal; mam and incharge mam gave away prizes to the best performers.

Presentation by the students of VI to VIII

“To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art”

 

 Classes VI to VIII presented a dramatization on the topic ‘Eat Right, Be bright’. The problem of shift from traditional to the so- called modern foods due to eating patterns and intensive marketing of junk foods and beverages was highlighted in it. It was an attempt to discourage children from consuming high quantities of junk food and encourage them to follow good eating habits to stay healthy. Children also spread awareness about the healthy eating habits  through placards.

One Nation Reading Together

 

`Reading is the magic key that takes us where we want to be’.

From listening to stories at grandma’s lap, children slowly graduate to browsing and reading stories on their own with greater confidence and greater enjoyment.

The students of classes III to V had a reading session which transported them into a magical world which is hidden between the pages of book. The students got totally engrossed in their books. There was complete silence in class rooms but one could feel little minds absorbing the information from the world of books and enjoying themselves.

Poetry Recitation


The school organized Poetry Recitation for the students of classes XI – XII on 14 October, 2014.  The children recited beautiful poems by eminent English Poets like P.B. Shelley, Keats, Wordsworth, Shakespeare etc. The students mesmerized everyone as they recited the poems keeping intonation, elocution and pronunciation in mind.  The activity provided a platform to the students where their talent was nurtured further.  The latent talent of the children came forwards, thanks to the guidance and assistance provided by the teachers.  The students got motivated further to read many other English Poems.  It was an enriching experience for everyone.


 


Powerpoint Presentation

 

A Power Point Presentation on internationally acclaimed English Poets was held on 13 October, 2014 for the students of classes XI – XII.  The students researched extensively on eminent English Poets like William Wordsworth, William Shakespeare, Robert Frost, Walt Whitman and Pablo Neruda.  The teachers acted like perfect mentors who provided guidance to the students.  The children prepared presentations on the life and works of famous English Poets.  The activity enabled the students to put forth their creativity.  The audience was left spell bound as they witnessed presentations on these notable English Poet.  The activity boosted the confidence level of the students. It was an overwhelming experience.


 


Paper bag making

‘Save nature for our future – Switch to paper bags and save environment’

 

With the belief that protection and preservation of the environment is the need of the hour, the students of classes III to V participated in paper bag making activity using eco-friendly material. The little hands aimed to educate and prepare the community for greener earth through this activity. The children showcased their talent and distributed the paper bags in the community to spread awareness about using paper bags for global safety.


 


Green Olympiad (Junior)

The Green Olympiad (Junior), an environment based examination was conducted for the students of classes IV and V on 3 December 2014. The examination was organized by ‘The Energy and Resources Institute’ (TERI) which is actively engaged in various activities which help to generate awareness on environment, energy, climate change, waste, biodiversity, education and sustainable development among the children. It was a learning experience for the students.


 


Fitness week- classes I and II

Fitness week was conducted in classes I and II from 15 to 19 december. On day 1, children ran with full enthusiasm in the run for fitness. Healthy food like fruit and corn salad were enjoyed alon with workout sessions of aerobics and yoga on the following days. The motto of spreading the importance of fitness was achieved ultimately.


 


ISA Activity - Group Discussion

 

A group discussion on ‘Ways to Conserve Environment in different countries’ was held for the students of class III. The teachers and students discussed the need to conserve environment and the steps being taken in different countries to conserve environment. The students participated enthusiastically and learnt that they can do much more in their own little way to build up a clean and beautiful environment and maintain its beauty for years to come. This was followed by a worksheet to ensure that the students had imbibed and understood the importance of the maintainance and preservation of our environment and become more knowledgeable students with a global outlook.


 


Cooking without Fire

 

‘Cooking without Fire’ was held for the students of classes III to V on 23 December 2014. The activity helped to bring out the cooking skills of the students. The following delicacies were prepared by the students:-

Dance Workshop- classes I and II

Dance is a good exercise for body and to relax one's mind. A workshop of  dance was arranged in classes I and II. Students learnt some new steps and enjoyed the music.

International Mother Language Day Celebrations

UNESCO has declared 21st February to be celebrated as International Mother Language Day every year to promote the dissemination of mother tongues and create fuller awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world.

 To sensitise our English speaking generation about the need to respect one’s mother tongue & to go international, a Poetry Recitation Competition was organized where the students of classes III to V recited beautiful poems in three languages- Hindi, Punjabi and Bengali.

 The Principal Ms. Mona Rastogi applauded the efforts of the students and motivated them to develop love and respect for our rich tradition and culture.


 


Handwriting Week

 

‘Good handwriting reflects clear thought and expression’

Neatly written and legibly done work makes it worth doing. So ‘Handwriting Week’ is being organized from 6-10 April 2015 to motivate the students of classes III to V to begin the new academic session on a good note.

A magic show was organised for the tiny tots which they enjoyed. It provided moments of sheer delight to them.


 


International Earth Day Celebrations

‘Save the Earth, Win the Life’

A special assembly was organized by classes III to V to celebrate the ‘Earth Day’. The students voiced their concern for saving the earth for future generations. They talked about the importance of reducing waste, using things more than once, recycling objects and saving energy and reminded everyone that each person has to devote himself to the care of the planet Earth.The students pledged to connect with and protect the environment.The school choir sang a melodious song on the occasion about the necessity of celebrating everyday as Earth Day. The Principal, Ms.Mona Rastogi motivated the students to do their bit in saving the planet and applauded the efforts of the students and teachers.

 

 


 


Workshop on Internet Safety and Cyber Crime

 

Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura organized a workshop on Internet Safety and Cyber Crime for the senior students on  21 April 2015. The Principal of the School, Mrs. Mona Rastogi welcomed the guest speakers.  The workshop commenced with making the students understand the importance of internet safety these days.  A video pertaining to the topic was shown to the students.  The workshop was in the form of a quiz which enabled the students to interact more with the guest speakers.  The workshop discussed a myriad of issues likes apps related to women safety, how to deal if someone is bullying you on net, laws related to cyber crime. It also dealt with the current issue of net neutrality.  The workshop enabled the students to understand that internet is truly a gift of science, only if it is used judiciously.


 


Visit to IIT Delhi

On 18th April, 2015, the students of Sachdeva Public School visitedIIT campus, Delhi, one of the most prestigious institutes in India.IIT had organized an open house to provide an insight into path-breaking research work, students projects & the numerous advanced facilities and laboratories available in IIT Delhi. Almost all fields of engineering  i.e mechanical, physical, chemical, electrical, civil etc. were displayed in the exhibition. Our students also participated in a Science quiz based on `Energy’ and the results are as follows :

Group Song Competition (UKG)

An exhilerating group song competiton was organised for the little ones of pre-primary classes to create feelings of unity,oneness and harmony.The children participated with full enthusiasm and sang rythmically enough to enthral everyone.
It was a unique way of expressing themselves and a great platform for the young talents which grabbed the attention of the audience.This competition expanded their exposure to the world around them.The songs based on the themes birds,nature,colours and animals were extremely captivating. 


 


Fancy Dress Show (LKG and UKG)

To blend learning with fun and develop confidence in our little ones, a Fancy Dress Show was organised on 3rd December.


 


Fun Games

To make children enjoy to the fullest,lots of fun games were organised for the students of pre-primary classes.It brought immense pleasure to them.A wide variety of games made learning truly enjoyable.It channelised their energy and enhanced the creative potential of the young ones.The exciting mix of such games sparked every child's imagination.


 


Maths Quiz

The Maths Quiz was a powerful tool equipped with abundant brain teasers for the little ones.Plenty of questions were asked to develop their mathematical abilities. The goal of this quiz was to nurture the potential of children,develop confidence in them and apply their mathematical knowledge to solve real life problems at ease.The children participated with zest and zeal.All the participating teams achieved rewarding results.
