Workshop on Life Skills 20-10-2023

FOSTERING SCHOOL DISCIPLINE, RESPECTFUL INTERACTION, AND COLLABORATION

The school organized a workshop for the students of middle school to create an environment that prioritizes respectful interaction and collaboration with a strong emphasis on setting boundaries while interacting, regardless of gender. The main objective of the workshop was to sensitise students about self-awareness, life skills, soft skills and the importance of all round development.

Maintaining a positive school environment and fostering respectful interaction and collaboration are paramount. This workshop created awareness about personal boundaries and consent in interpersonal interactions. During the workshop, the students were encouraged to embrace optimism and cultivate a positive outlook towards life. A captivating presentation was shown to highlight various personality-enhancing traits, complemented by engaging short clips that resonated with the students.

The workshop proved to be an insightful and enriching experience for the students. The event was elevated by the gracious presence of our respected Principal ma’am who inspired and encouraged students to embrace the values deliberated upon in the workshop.

WORKSHOP ON ‘LIFE SKILLS FOR ADOLESCENTS’

A workshop was organized for the students of class XI in association with The Times of India. The topic of the workshop was ‘Life Skills for Adolescents.’ The spokesperson was Ms. Jaishree Mehta, a life skills trainer and a certified career counsellor. The speaker commenced the workshop with a puzzle to encourage the lateral thinking of the students. She told the students to calm down their minds in order to take decisions responsibly. She stated that the adolescents must take the ownership of their actions. She further added that if youngsters demand freedom, then they must not forget that freedom comes along with responsibility. Then, the students were taught the techniques of communication. They were motivated to use more of ‘I’ statements rather than ‘You’ statements as the latter sound like accusatory statements. At last, the students were encouraged to pursue their hobbies. Overall, the workshop was an interactive session which reiterated that the students must abide by the rules of the school, thereby, becoming mature and responsible beings

right career on their own. Keeping this in view, Sachdeva Public School,
Pitampura organised a counselling session for the students of class IX on
Tuesday, 13 December 2022 on the topic, ‘Working Effective Career Choices
and Integrating the Key 21st Century Skills. The objective of the workshop was
to help students identify their career goals, set the education milestone and
derive the clear pathways to achieve them. An informative PPT was shown and
an insightful story was narrated to make the session more perceptive. Not only
this, questions were asked from the students to keep them well engaged. The
workshop was engaging, productive and fruitful for the students.

Workshop on Leadership Talk

The desire and the hunger to achieve our goals play a major role in attaining success as we work hard towards the things we want, which leads to the accomplishment of our goals. Keeping this view in mind, Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organized a Leadership Talk to motivate the students of Class XI. The speakers were the alumni of school who advised the students to study hard and follow the maxims of being persistent and persevering. They shared their experiences and stressed on the value of discipline in a student’s life.

The Principal, Ms. Mona Rastogi, wished the students a prosperous and bright future, full of hope, hard work and continual excellent achievement.

Personality Development Workshop 19-11-2022

Personality Development Workshop 

‘A healthy sense of self is rooted in character.’

Personality development is an important aspect of every student’s life as it helps them instil confidence, build leadership skills, communicate effectively and develop optimism. Therefore, it is important that one takes the necessary steps to build a solid foundation that can be built on.

To acquaint the students of middle school with the basics of personality, our school organised a workshop on Personality Development on 11 November 2022. The main objective of the workshop was to educate students about self-awareness, life skills, soft skills and the importance of all round development. During the workshop the students were encouraged to be optimistic and to have a positive approach towards life.  They were guided to use polite language and value time. They were given tips on how to increase their self esteem and display the best in them in any situation. Most importantly, it was emphasised that they should respect everyone, be disciplined and never lose confidence. Various traits to enhance the personality were shared with the help of a PPT and interesting short clips were shown to the students.

 It was an interesting and wholesome experience for the young learners. They took very keen interest and they were stuck to learn the ways to enhance their personality through the golden rules enumerated in the workshop. The workshop was indeed informative and beneficial for the students.





Workshop on ‘Effective Utilisation of Time 03-04-2021

An online workshop was conducted on ‘Effective Utilisation of Time' for the students of classes X and  XII.  The workshop aimed at guiding students on how to plan ahead with the study schedules and easily achieve the set goals for sure shot success in Board Examinations. It focused also on strengthening highly demanded skills like analytical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence etc. The workshop gave an opportunity to the students to find out for themselves if they would like to take research programmes, they can take first hand experience of various activities like entrepreneurship, internship etc. The workshop was an interactive one and broadened the prospects of the students for better careers in India and abroad.






Workshop on Career Counselling for Class X 19-02-2021

To sensitize the students with the new emerging career options and acquaint them with various skill based learning trends, an online Career Counselling session was organized for the students of class X. The resource person shared various career options in the field of Science, Commerce and Humanities available both within and outside India. He also briefed the students about countries offering free education and gave an extensive framework of various universities, camps and courses like Artificial Intelligence, Human Centred Designs etc. available nationally and internationally. Overall, It was a very enlightening session which gave a clear understanding of both the mainstream as well as vocational courses available today.





Webinar on Skills for success in post covid times 24-12-2020

Webinar by Times NIE and Bennett University on ‘Skills for Success’ in post- Covid world.

On 24th December 2020, a webinar was organized for the students of classes XI and XII by Times NIE in collaboration with Bennett University on ‘Skills for Success’ in post covid world. The resource person was Mr. Abhijan Ganguly.

 The resource person discussed the challenges presented by Covid -19. He emphasized that everybody has to adjust to this new normal and hence develop skills required to succeed in these challenging times such as critical thinking, being tech savvy, digital literacy, problem solving skills, creativity, ability to manage time along with mental wellness etc. He also shared information about the various programs and courses offered by Bennet University. Overall it was an informative webinar.





CYBER BULLYING- WEBINAR 25-11-2020

An interactive webinar was organized by the school on 25th November 2020, to sensitize students of classes IX and XI about the emerging concern of Cyber Bullying. The resource person, Mr. Saurabh described cyberbullying as the dark side of social media. He initiated the session by sharing the statistics of cyber bullying cases in India, which proved to be an eye opener for all. He discussed the causes, significant emotional and psychological, distress, consequences and preventive measures to deal with this serious problem in today’s time. He informed the students about various ways in which a victim can raise voice against such bullies and gain justice, important contact numbers were shared with the students. Towards the end of the session, he also answered the questions asked by the students and even urged them to further generate awareness among others. It was a very informative and interactive session for all.

 





Webinar on Careers in India and Abroad 07-11-2020

CAREERS IN INDIA AND ABROAD BY JITIN CHAWLA 

A webinar was organized by the school in collaboration with Jitin Chawla Center for Career Development on 6th November 2020. The aim was to acquaint students with different career opportunities and skills required for the same. Mr. Jitin Chawla and his team discussed about conventional and unconventional career options and colleges available for all the streams. He also invited respective speakers from his team to share their expertise on the types of designing careers in India and career opportunities and procedures to study abroad. Students participated with great enthusiasm and their queries were addressed by the team.

The webinar was an eye opener as the students got to know about a wide range of options available for them according to their chosen streams and preferences. They got to know about how they should prepare themselves for various courses, camps etc. They learnt about various specialization  and superspecialisation courses available and universities providing these courses in India and abroad.





CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOP 21-08-2019

Sachdeva Public school, Pitampura organized a career counselling workshop for students of classes XI and XII on 21st August 2019, Thursday. The spokesperson Mr. Jitin Chawla disseminated valuable information on varied mainstream and vocational career options and courses, among students. It was a very enlightening session, which gave clear understanding of India and foreign based universities as well as alternative career options. He also pictured clearly to the students the extensive frame of career options and the emerging trends of careers for all the three streams like; NDA, Merchant Navy, BMS, Film Making, Jewellery designing etc. The workshop concluded with a short open-house session where the students cleared their doubts and misconceptions about various careers. Overall, it was an extremely illumining workshop. 





CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOP (Class IX-X) 20-08-2019

A career counselling session was organized on 19th and 20th August 2019 for classes IX and X. The workshop dealt with critical and creative thinking of the students. The basic mantra for success i.e. PCM which implies “Passion, Commitment, Motivation’ was taken up by the resource persons. They also stressed upon the importance of ‘how’ to do rather than ‘what’ to do. They enlightened the students about the importance of Time Management and also shared anecdotes for the same. Emphasis was laid on the fact that in the upcoming world of artificial intelligence, only thinkers can survive. In a nutshell it was quite a productive workshop.  





Students’ Meet 11-12-2018

The school organized a “Students’ Meet” in association with Centre for Career Development on ‘Charting your career in XII and Target Boards 2019’ on 11 Dec 2018. The session was attended by the students and teachers of other schools across Delhi as well. To mark the beginning of the workshop, our revered Principal ma’am, Mrs Mona Rastogi welcomed the esteemed guests, Mr Jitin Chawla, an eminent career counsellor and Dr Aruna Broota, acclaimed mental health expert and distinguished Clinical Psychologist.
The students were orchestrated by Mr Jitin Chawla on varied courses and career options in India and abroad. He briefed the students about the criterion required for admission in various foreign and Indian universities. Dr Aruna Broota took charge of directing the students with ways to prepare well for Board Exams. She guided them about special study techniques, “Keeping the Spine vertical”, “Kinesthetic reading” etc to learn well and retain better. The session concluded with an interactive session of the students with the resource persons





Career Conference at The Heritage School 05-10-2018

24 students of Class XII attended a Career Conference at The Heritage School, Rohini on 5th Oct, 2018, Friday. The students could traverse through a gamut of career options available to them. The speakers and resource persons from various National and private universities like IIFM,ISDI,ISBF, Bennett University etc. enlightened the students about varied recourses and alternatives available to Science, Commerce and Humanities streams. They were also illuminated with valuable information regarding contingencies in college admissions and entrance examinations. The counselling session by Dr. V.S. Ravindran was an extremely motivating and enlightening one. Altogether, it was a complete learning experience for the students.    





Lifeskill Workshops (Class V) 26-09-2018

‘The way we talk to our children, becomes their inner voice’.

It is a constant endeavour of the school to ensure holistic development of the students. We try to provide a platform to our students where they can hone their skills, so that they can flourish in different real-life situations and emerge as responsible citizens of the future. Keeping this in mind, Lifeskill workshops are organized for the students of Class V. The students get an opportunity to share their experiences with the peer group and the resource person, which helps them overcome their inhibitions, boosts their confidence and develops a positive attitude in them. Group activities, presentations and interactive sessions make the workshops interesting and worthwhile. Some of the topics that have been covered are:

-          Etiquettes and manners

-          Goal setting for success

-          Personal responsibilities

-          Freedom from fear of rejection

 

 

 





How to win over fear of boards 11-09-2018

In order to impart guidance to the students of classes X and XII for board examinations, the school organised a workshop on ' How to win over fear of boards? ' on 10 september, 2018. The workshop primarily focussed on teaching various study skills and learning techniques to the students. They were taught space learning- the fastest learning method, so that the students are able to utilize their full potential during the exams. The students were also enlightened regarding the importance of balanced diet which keeps the mind calm, thus fostering maximum learning outcome. The workshop, indeed, motivated the students to persevere and score maximum in the exams. 





workshop on ‘Relaxing the Mind for Mental Wellness’ 01-08-2018

Today, mental well being is of utmost importance for the students. Keeping this view in mind, the school organised a three-day workshop on ‘Relaxing the Mind for Mental Wellness’ from 30 July- 1 August 2018 as a part of Health and Physical Education. The students learnt the importance of keeping calm and relaxing their mind for a peaceful existence. The students learnt the power of introspection through the meditation sessions.  The workshop enabled the students to practise patience and perseverance in order to lead a blissful life. The students were shown videos and movies highlighting the need to cleanse their inner souls. The workshop also inculcated the importance of time management skills amongst the students, thus, enlightening them holistically.  





Good Health 14-05-2018

“Good health and good sense are life’s two greatest blessings.”

We have often heard the quote “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Abiding this, Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organized a workshop on “Good Health” on 14 May 2018. The resource person enabled the students to understand that ‘Good Health starts from our Intestines’. They were accustomed with the concepts of digestion and absorption. The students participated enthusiastically and zealously in Quiz and various other activities. Overall, it was a lively and tantalizing workshop.





WORKSHOP ON CAREER COUNSELLING 14-05-2018

In today's competitive world, its imperative to choose the right career option after class XII. Keeping this view in mind, Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura, organized a Career Counselling Session for the students of Class XII. Mr. Jitin Chawla, an eminent educationist and counsellor had an interactive session with the students. He dealt with their issues pertaining to various career options. The students were also informed about various universities and their entrance exam dates. The workshop enabled the students to broaden their mental horizon, assess their interests and abilities. The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, wished the students' a prosperous and bright future, full of hope, perseverance and excellent achievement.





Social Etiquette 08-05-2018

“A man’s manners are a mirror in which he shows his portrait.”

A workshop on ‘Social Etiquette’ was conducted on 8 May 2018 for the students of class IX in the school premises. The resource person enabled the students to understand the importance of etiquette in our day-to-day life. Children were galvanized by highlighting that hardwork gives 98% success but attitude can give 100% success. Overall, it was a very enthralling and enlightening workshop.





Road Safety Week 26-04-2018

Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura observed 29th Road Safety Week from 23rd April 2018 to 30th April 2018 to sensitize the students and create awareness about road safety.  A Drawing Competition was held for classes III to V.  The little ones showcased their artistic skills and created magical expression on paper through their drawings spreading the message of following the road safety rules to one and all.  The students of classes VI to VIII completed a Questionnaire based on Rules and Regulations of Road Usage. The exercise was done to inculcate the importance of following rules on the road by everyone for their own safety and life.  The pupils of Classes IX and X wrote a story on the theme  “A little care make accidents rare”.  The aim of the event was to sensitize the understanding of the students not to multi-task at the wheels. The students of classes XI and XII participated in a Debate Competition on Road Safety.  The topic for the debate was “Helmets should be made Compulsory”.  The participants presented their view points to the audience and guided them about the importance of road sense.  The speakers also stressed on the importance of wearing helmets for two wheeler riders and pillion riders.  The Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi praised the consistent endeavours of the students which enabled everyone to learn and follow the rules pertaining to Road Safety.





TRAFFIC AND ROAD SAFETY 03-10-2017

A workshop was organized on 3 October, 2017 regarding “Traffic and road safety”. The students were made aware of various road signs, light signals etc. Interesting clippings were shown to help the students understand the importance of wearing safety devices like helmet, seatbelt etc. It emphasized to have a license before driving a vehicle. The speakers urged the students to follow the speed limits not to use mobile phones or play loud music and operate any gadgets while driving. They were made aware of “No Honking” zones and the areas where honking is a must like hilly areas, sharp turns etc., at the end, there were useful instructions for their parents that the students should pass on. Overall the workshop was knowledgeable and very interesting. 





CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOP 22-08-2017

Keeping in mind the growing education and career opportunities not just within India but also outside and a lack of awareness thereof, the school organized a career counseling workshop for students of classes IX to XII.

The resource persons informed students about various exams like SAT, PSAT, TOEFL/IELTS etc. that students need to qualify in order to go abroad for further studies. Various scholarships programmes were also discussed which can assist the students in yielding better opportunities. The schedule of these exams was discussed and a comparison was drawn between the Indian and foreign universities so that the students can make informed choices for their future.

 





WORKSHOP ON ORGAN DONATION 02-08-2017

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura in association with the Times of India organized a workshop on Wednesday, 2 August 2017 for the students of class XI to sensitize them on a crucial and exigent issue of Organ Donation. The workshop was piloted by The MOHAN FOUNDATION which is an NGO in India that works in the field of deceased Organ Donation and Transplantation. The speaker governed  detailed awareness session on Organ Donation which included concepts of Transplant, Tissue-matching, Brain Death, its causes, how can it be identified , barriers and myths in Organ Donation. Many queries asked by the students were answered and they were encouraged to talk to their parents and relatives about Organ Donation. Lastly, to mark the end of the session, the students were shown a video on how ONE donor can save many lives and that DEATH is not the END.

Student Meet - Eureka 06-05-2017

 

Students meet – Eureka was organized by the school in association with Centre for Career Development headed by Mr. Jitin Chawla for the outgoing batch of class XII keeping in mind the diversity of career options available for both meritorious and average students and a lack of awareness thereof.
The workshop focused on helping students make informed choices about opting the right course in the right university.
Parents and students were informed, and their doubts were dispelled regarding the choice between conventional universities/courses and the new, upcoming ones. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, Deputy Dean, student welfare, Delhi University informed about the updated admission criteria and policy changes regarding admissions in Delhi University.
Various course options available in other universities were discussed by the respective resource persons from various universities.
The talk was an informative and enriching experience for students and parents alike.

Mass Legal Literacy Campaign-An Interactive Session 02-03-2017

An interactive session on “Mass Legal Literacy” was organized by the school on 02 March 2017 (Tuesday) for classes IX  to XII.

Additional District Judge Mr. Manmohan Sharma graced the occasion, reiterating the importance of fundamental rights and duties of students so as to build a sense of awareness and responsibility in them. The discussion revolved on issues involving civil and criminal law, discrepancy between adult and juvenile laws, the importance of being an alert and observant individual and the matters of Centre and State. The students got a chance to get their doubts cleared on various existing laws.

The Session proved to be an informative and enriching experience for one and all.





Vigilance Awareness Week, 2016 24-10-2016

A workshop was organized for the teachers of the school on Vigilance in collaboration with Union Bank of India to commemorate the Vigilance Awareness Week. The workshop was an eye opener as it guided and motivated the teaching faculty to be observant and cautious while dealing with monetary transactions.  The week initiated with an endeavour to promote transparency, probity and integrity in public life. A `Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition’ was organized for the students of classes VI – VIII on the theme `Public Participation in Eradicating Corruption’. The students participated with full zeal and their posters left everyone spellbound. The winners of the competition were Sanya Sarda ( VIII – C), Khushi Pruthi (VIII – E) and Kriti Taneja  (VIII – D). An Essay Writing Activity was organized for the students of classes IX and X. The topics for the essay writing were : `Corruption – a social evil’ and `My concept of Good Governance’. The winners of the competition were Alankriti Garg (X-C), Megha Singhal (IX – B) and Tamanna Singhal (X-B). The senior school students enthusiastically participated in the Vigilance Quiz organized by Union Bank of India. The winners of the Quiz Contest were – Aman Goel, Swastik Aggarwal, Ritik Aggarwal and Yash Rajani of XI-C. The second position was taken by Saksham Chandna, Tapan Gaur, Rahul Jain and Shubham Malhotra of XI – B.

The series of events inculcated awareness amongst the students about different spheres of life. It enabled them to adopt preventive measures to curb corruption and enhance accountability at various levels and therefore strengthening system by making it more efficient. The valedictory ceremony manifested the Principal, Mrs. Mona Rastogi’s outlook – `Never Neglect details; Be Vigilant and Observant.’





Workshop on Essentials of Group Discussion 19-10-2016

A workshop was organized on essentials of group discussion on 19th October, 2016 in the school activity hall in association with ManavRachna University. The spokesperson enlightened students about various arenas like college/university admissions, company recruitments and general discussions where this skill plays a pivotal role in selection and elimination of candidates. She accentuated the role of each participant in a group discussion: Introducer, traffic police, guard, summarizer, data presenter, etc. She fostered insight in building confidence, content cultivation and exhibiting prospective. A twenty minute discussion was conducted for class 12 students on the topic-“Importance of YouTube in Students’ Life”, which was highly enjoyed and applauded by everyone. The workshop was highly effacious and apprising.  





Workshop on Joys of Innovation 22-09-2016

A workshop was organized by Hindustan Times on Joys of Innovation for the students of class XII. It began with an ice breaking activity which motivated the students to shed their inhibition. Quoting examples of Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp (the founders of Uber cabs) the spokesperson emphasized on the journey of translating an idea into service that creates value in the market. There is no innovation without creativity so children were encouraged to value their own ideas and work towards putting them into reality. The workshop was an enlightening experience for all the students which propagated innovative thinking amongst them.





Pottery Workshop (III-V) 16-09-2016

Art in the classroom not only spurs creativity, it also inspires learning – Mickey Hart

An interesting and interactive ‘Pottery Workshop’ was organized for classes III-V on 22 September 2016. The resource person taught the students to make use of the potter’s wheel. The students were fascinated by hands on experience. They were thrilled to see their creativity taking shape in the form of lamps, birds, pencil stands etc. The workshop gave them an understanding of three dimensional world. It was a great learning experience for the students.

Workshop on Safe Driving 08-09-2016

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organized a workshop on Safe Driving for the students of senior classes. The resource person, emphasized on the behavioural patterns of people driving two wheelers. He stressed on the need to wear helmets and drive alertly and calmly. The spokesperson guided the students not to drive vehicles if they are minors and behave as responsible citizens. An interactive session was also held in which seven situations based real stories were narrated to the students which enabled them to understand the hazards of driving rashly and develop civic road sense. He also drew a fine distinction between European and Indian road sense and stressed on the need to show a serene temperament while driving. The students participated with full zeal and fervor and keenly answered all the questions raised by the spokesperson. The session ended with the message that if you have the patience to face obstacles things will definitely turn out in an optimistic manner.

Positive Thinking- A Ladder to Success

“One cannot tailor-make the situations in life, but one can tailor-make the attitudes to fit those situations.”

The best attitude in life is to have a positive outlook. To enable the students sail through the difficult situations confidently and overcome the various challenges of life, Sachdeva Public School organized a workshop for classes VI to X. The students were taught to manage crisis by choosing their best thoughts and be optimistic. Multiple activities were conducted where the learners were instructed how to convert their efforts into beautiful outcome.





Assaults on Women – NCC Training Programme 17-08-2016

As part of the NCC Training Programme, the school organized a workshop on ‘Assaults on Women’ in July 2016. The aim of the programme was to make the cadets understand the significance of social service to the community and assist the weaker sections of the society in their upliftment.

“It is time for action,

           to end violence against women.”

The workshop began with welcoming Ms. Mona Rastogi, Principal and other guests.  They enlightened the students on the importance of women in the society and the need for them to be strong, independent and proactive.  The workshop was attended with great enthusiasm and interest by the NCC cadets who pledged to do their utmost in protecting women and reducing this malaise from society.

The students were made aware and sensitized about the competition in today’s world. They were also acquainted with various activities to tackle many challenging situations with a feeling of brotherhood. The students enthusiastically participated in the group activities organized by the resource person.





USA-UnivQuest 12-07-2016

Keeping in mind the growing popularity of attaining higher education in World Class Universities, a workshop was organized in the school to bring awareness amongst the students. The students were made aware about various US Universities and were guided as to how to prepare and apply for them. They were also informed about numerous scholarship programmes which could assist them in yielding better opportunities. In the discussion session, the resource person clarified the doubts of the inquisitive learners. In a nutshell, it was an enlightening workshop.





Workshop on Life Skills VI-VIII 30-06-2016

The society is changing at a fast pace and the children these days are feeling a lot of stress. To help them counter balance the pressure effectively and sail through the difficult situations comfortably, the school has arranged life skill workshops for the students of classes VI to X.

 

 In these workshops various techniques are discussed, which enable the students to deal effectively with demands and challenges of life. The students are made aware and sensitized about various issues of day to day life and hence can deal with them confidently. They have not only learnt to manage crisis but have also developed positive outlook.

Students' Meet for Career Counselling 05-05-2016

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura organized a “Students’ Meet on Evaluation of colleges and universities – an industry outlook”, on 4 May 2016, in the school, in association with Centre for Career Development, headed by the eminent career counsellor, Mr Jitin Chawla. The Students’ Meet was attended by ten other schools of Delhi as well. In this three hour long meet Mr Jitin Chawla enlightened the students of class XII coming from all three streams of education about various prospects and career options available for a luminous and successful future. Courses like BBE, C.A. etc. being available for students of Science and Humanities also. He, alongwith three more speakers from the spheres of Creative Designing, Marketing and Hotel Management, acquainted the students with a variety of career building options available in Portfolio Management, Company Finance, Data Analysis, Entrepreneurship, On-line-Marketing etc. Students heard him enthusiastically and were overwhelmed to know about multiple options available to them for a rewarding career and a planned future.

Career Fair 28-04-2016

Students of class 12 attended a Career Fair organized by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee on 28th April 2016 at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, Delhi. Various elite educational institutions and universities guided the students regarding eligibility criteria and admission procedures. They helped the students to acknowledge the appropriate field of study as per their capabilities, aptitudes and interests. About 30 prestigious educational institutions from Delhi and NCR, including Delhi University, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Amity University etc. counselled the students about various career options available. They enlightened the students to choose the suitable courses keeping in view their interests and talent so as to make them successful in academic and practical life.





Workshop on Lifeskills 29-01-2016

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed”.

A workshop on lifeskills was organized for the students of class V on 29 January 2015. The students learnt about the importance of ‘helping others’. The resource person narrated an interesting story related to the topic. The moral of the story was imparted through role play. The students enacted different situations and highlighted how they can help their friends, parents, grandparents, teachers and even someone on the road. The students participated enthusiastically in the activity. It was an enriching experience for the students which enhanced their personality, making them caring and concerned future citizens of the world.





Self Defence Workshop for Girls 16-12-2015

A self defence workshop was organized on 15th - 16th December, 2015 for the girls of classes V – X.  The workshop was conducted to help empower the girls to deal with any untoward situation concerning their safety, both,  at home and outside. The training was conducted by a martial arts expert who taught the girls about the difference between good touch and bad touch and gave the DOs and Don’ts to be kept in mind if they find themselves in potentially unsafe environment. The aim was to equip the girls with skills to enhance awareness, avoidance and de-escalation.  The techniques imparted were easy to learn, remember and execute.





Medical Workshop-Classes I and II 17-09-2015

Looking around us so many diseases like dengue, malaria etc. a medical workshop ws taken up in classes I and II by Dr. Raman Sahni. Its main aim was to tell children how to be healthy, and save themselves from diseases. He explained many healthy habits to the children including the importance of healthy food, keeping the surroundings clean and keeping themselves covered to avoid mosquito bite. As the children are learning the lesson on food, a small quiz was taken up to refresh their knowledge about-

  • Why do we eat food?
  • Different groups of food
  • Healthy habits

The students took part in quiz enthusiastically and gave answers. It was learning cum fun for them. Overall it was an informative workshop. It will help them to fight with dengue on their own level

  • By wearing full sleeves clothes.
  • By not letting the water collect around their house.
  • By throwing the waste in the dustbin.
  • By eating healthy food.

 

We make our children aware about their surroundings time to time.





Workshop : Wowcabulary 20-07-2015

“Learning new vocabulary is as delightful as learning a new alphabet.”

With this adage Sachdeva Public School organized a workshop, Enhancing English Vocabulary on 20 July 2015 for the students of classes X & XI. The resource person highlighted the importance of good vocabulary to make learning more effectual and inspiring with each passing day. The students were enthused with the concept of mimonics by showing video clips which honed their thinking skills. Altogether it was quite an interesting and rich learning experience.





Digital India 13-07-2015

A students’ Meet on “Digital India”, changes in Delhi University and Add on courses

 

In today’s cut throat competition, choosing the right career option is a herculean task for the students. Considering the prime importance of choosing a right career, a workshop was held at Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura. Mr. Jitin Chawla, an eminent educationist and career counsellor, guided the students regarding the various career options available to them.  The prime motto of conducting the workshop was to make the students understand the new horizons of opportunities available to them, besides the traditional ones.  The speaker enlightened the students about versatile options available in the field of Hotel Management, Fashion Designing, Digital Programming etc.  He also unveiled the prospects of many online courses available to the students.  The Principal of the School, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, motivated the students to excel in their chosen field, so as to become responsible citizens of the society.





Workshop on Internet Safety and Cyber Crime 21-04-2015

Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura organized a workshop on Internet Safety and Cyber Crime for the senior students on 21 April 2015. The Principal of the School, Mrs. Mona Rastogi welcomed the guest speakers. The workshop commenced with making the students understand the importance of internet safety these days. A video pertaining to the topic was shown to the students. The workshop was in the form of a quiz which enabled the students to interact more with the guest speakers. The workshop discussed a myriad of issues likes apps related to women safety, how to deal if someone is bullying you on net, laws related to cyber crime. It also dealt with the current issue of net neutrality. The workshop enabled the students to understand that internet is truly a gift of science, only if it is used judiciously.



Orientation- “The Secret of getting ahead is getting started” 08-04-2015

With this view in mind, the school organized an Orientation Programme for the students of Class X on 8th April, 2015. The Principal Mrs. Mona Rastogi kindled the spirit of motivation and enthusiasm with her aspiring words. The importance of scholastic and co-scholastic skills was the key factor of the programme. The students were reminded about the assessment system, requirement of attendance, Problem Solving Assessment and the grading pattern of CCE. The children were also acquainted about various possible streams that can be taken after Class X.

Career counseling 18-12-2014

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura conducted a workshop on ‘Career Counseling’ for class 10 students on 18 December, 2014. Mr. Jatin Chawla was the honorable speaker. He kindled the fire at the threshold of their career. He invoked the spirit of enlightenment and prompted them to choose their point presentation was also shown to the students featuring a comprehensive list of courses and institutes.

In a nutshell, it was a thought-provoking workshop which had a fruitful impact on one and all present there.      





Road safety measures 16-12-2014

Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura recently organized a workshop on Road Safety Measures on 16 December, 2014 for the students of classes 9 and 10. Mr. Vijay Kumar, Sub-Inspector, Delhi Traffic Police, was the resource person who enlightened the students about the issue with a lot of Audio- Visual stimulus. The workshop was quite beneficial for the students as their inquisitive queries were satisfactorily answered by the expert. Later, a movie was also shown to the students.This workshop was indeed very helpful for the students as the cases of road rage, accidents and violation of traffic rules are increasing day by day.





Career Development 27-11-2014

The school organized students’ meet on Nov.27,2014 in the school activity hall to guide and enlighten students to plan their college admission for a shining future ahead. The school hosted this Inter school meet in association with Centre for Career Development, Vigyan Prasar, Bharati Vidyapeeth University and ICSI, Govt. of India. Students of all three streams – Science, Commerce and Humanities were apprised of wide range of career options and institutions, especially the unconventional ones which students are seldom aware of. Integrated BS + MS, Architecture, Commercial pilot, Veterinary science, Aeronautical science, Bio-chemistry, Robotics etc. for science students. BFIA, BIBF, CA, CS, CW, Export, Actuarial Science, BSW (Social work), CLAT etc. for  Commerce and Humanity stream students.

Mr. Jitin Chawla, from the Centre for Career Development and others experts from  various reputed institutes graced the occasion and enlightened the students to discover a world of difference. They guided about nextgen pragmatic institutes and courses and gave a clear vision to create tomorrow’s global leaders.





Origami Workshop for classes III-V 23-09-2014

Origami is a metamorphic art form. It converts an ordinary paper to an extraordinary artistic form.

An ‘Origami Workshop’ was conducted for the students of classes III-V. The children learnt to transform a simple sheet into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. They made trees, flowers and many more things. It was a joyous experience for the children.





Eureka – Emerging Careers in Commerce and Humanities 09-08-2014

 

Students of Commerce and Humanities stream of Class XII attended a workshop on “Emerging Careers in Commerce and Humanities on          31st July, 2014 at Bal Bharti Public School, Rohini.  The focus of the workshop was on evolving financial scenario, existing world of venture capital and private equity and fund management in stock market etc.
Various career options like Acturial Science, Civil Services, Portfolio management, Fund management, Media management were discussed.  Some guidelines on preparation of competitive examinations were also given to the students.

Promise workshop for class V 01-08-2014

                                               ‘Life is an opportunity, benefit from it’

The students of class V of SPS got an opportunity to sharper their skills at ‘Public Speaking’ in the Promise workshop Organization by the school. The students were first given inputs on how, what and when to speak. Later each one of them came out, overcoming his or her inhibition and spoke confidently on the given topic.





Craft Workshop (ISA) III-V 14-07-2014

‘Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation and a pinch of creativity’.

Excitement reverberated through SPS as the students of class V got together for the special craft workshops organized for them.

Under the craft teachers’ guidance, the cardboards, thermocol sheets, pastel sheets and other material slowly took shape and the little fingers worked diligently to create breathtakingly beautiful models of French and Chinese monuments i.e. Tour de Eiffle, Arc de Triomphe, Great Wall of China and Tower of Heaven.

The students strived to prove their acumen in craft and aesthetic skills as they gave new colour, new decoration and a totally new interpretation to the four monuments under study. The workshops helped students observe and study monuments of two global cities giving an international dimension to their learning.

Career Counselling Session 26-03-2014

In today’s competitive world, choosing the right career option after class XII is of paramount importance. Keeping this in view, an interactive Career Counselling Session was held at Sachdeva Public School, Pitam Pura. The workshop answered many career related queries of Class XII students. Mr. Jitin Chawla, an eminent educationist and counsellor, helped the children to know and understand themselves. He made the students cognize the world of work in order to make career, educational and life decisions. The workshop enabled the students to assess their interests and abilities. A wide variety of careers ranging from Management and Mass Communication, to Law and Civil Services, were discussed. The Head of the School, Mrs. Mona Rastogi, wished the students a prosperous and bright future, full of hope, hard work and continued excellent achievement.
