A webinar was organized to help school, parents and students to come back to the school keeping in mind all the covid appropriate behaviour. Distrust of parent about health and hygiene needs to be worked upon. Parents must feel re-assured of their child’s safety and hygiene in the school premises. Majority of parents feel that the students should be physically going to school for their overall development but if parents are not ready to send their children for offline classes , they shouldn’t be forced . Educator’s aim is to create balance between offline and online classes and do justice to their choice of learning mode. Mental health of students is a top priority that should be taken care of. Students need to be eased into sharing and team activities. A routine should be created for students to help them move forward with a better capacity . Constant communication with them about how they are feeling now and what would make this transition easier is necessary. Finally, taking care of health, hygiene and vaccination of all staff as advised by the government should be up to date. We need to have an emergency plan of action if someone in the school tests covid positive. Communicating with parents about the importance of maintaining a balanced schedule of daily activities is also very important. Talking positively about the upcoming times and infusing that positivity in the classroom is required . Staying focused is the biggest challenge that this generation will face when they come back to offline schools and educators need to plan and implement engaging lessons. Classroom should be vibrant and playway activities should be incorporated to maintain the liveliness. The children should take responsibility for their actions as well . They should be given opportunities to showcase their skills in the classroom , paying attention to their moods, behaviour, etc. Any sign of anxiety and discomfort should be handled on priority bases when students are back to school.
