AWARENESS ON BENEFITS OF YOGA (Classes IX-X)

“Yoga is the journey of the self , through the self and to the self.”

 International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and teachers of Sachdeva Public School with great enthusiasm. The students of grade IX and X demonstrated various asanas followed by Surya Namaskar.

With the help of some videos, the teachers discussed the benefits of yoga with the children and encouraged them to practice yoga to remain fit and to improve their concentration.

Overall, it was a great initiative taken by CBSE to help the children understand the importance of Yoga in order to achieve a better life physically, mentally and spiritually.

Yoga Day (Class XII)

Yoga Day (Class XII)

This year Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura celebrated Yoga Day with full enthusiasm. The yoga session was held in the school premises in which students of class 12 performed various asanas like Trikonasana, Tadasana, Veer Bhadrasana and Suryanamaskar. The session was held to emphasize the importance of Yoga and physical exercises in daily life. The session was well organized and teachers were guiding students in performing the asanas. All the students participated enthusiastically. The sports teachers informed the students about the history of yoga and its importance in our daily lives to keep us fit. They also told the students how yoga integrates into the student’s life by helping in increasing concentration and focus. Overall, the session was celebrated enthusiastically by everyone.

Yoga Day Celebration (Classes VI-VIII)

"Yoga is a light which once lit will never dim. The better you practise , the brighter becomes your life."

 Keeping the innumerable benefits of yoga in mind, Sachdeva Public School celebrated International Yoga Day in classes VI-VIII.

Different activities were organised at different levels to make the students feel relaxed and to sharpen their concentration. To begin with, eminent yoga teachers of the school talked to the students about the need to incorporate meditation and breathing exercises in their day to day life. In class VI , a video was shown to the students depicting the various aspects and advantages of practising yoga. In class VII , a 'Poster Making Activity' was organised wherein the students depicted the need to adopt Yoga as a means to develop the balance among physical, mental and spiritual well being. The students of class VIII tried their skills at 'Slogan Writing' to spread the awareness about the benefits of Yoga. In addition to the above mentioned activities the physical education teachers arranged a 'Surya Namaskar Practice Session' for the students that turned out to be an enriching experience for everyone.

To sum up, Yoga Day Celebration enabled the students to understand the need to adopt Yoga as a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body.

International Yoga Day(Classes I-V)

Yoga not only provides a holistic approach to health and well-being but also maintains a balance between all aspects of life. Due to relentless efforts of our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, June 21 was declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. It is celebrated at the international level by organising activities like yoga training camps, yoga competitions and many other activities to enhance the awareness about yoga benefits among the people all over the world.

We at Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and vigour. Special morning yoga session was organised for students of classes III-V, wherein they exhibited various Asanas, Pranayama, Surya Namaskar etc. enthusiastically. Zestful students of class V participated in logo making activity and understood the importance of yoga in their daily lives.

The students of grade IX and X demonstrated various asanas and the teachers discussed the benefits of yoga with them by showing some videos. A beautifully designed PPT showing the importance of yoga and various yogic exercises was also shown to demonstrate the fundamental philosophy of yoga and to make the children aware of its manifold benefits.

The celebrations concluded when the students of classes III and IV took out a rally and visited all the sections of primary school to raise awareness about this ancient Indian practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. Our esteemed Principal mam Ms. Mona Rastogi encouraged the students to practice yoga regularly for their holistic well-being.

Overall, it was a great initiative taken by CBSE to help the children understand the importance of yoga in order to achieve a better life physically, mentally and spiritually.

FIT INDIA MOVEMENT

The students viewed the launching of ‘Fit India Movement’ by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 29th August 2019 on the occasion of ‘National Sports Day’. Stressing on the need to be fit, the Prime Minister said that a healthy India is his goal and added that people must change their mindsets when it comes to physical fitness. The children learnt the importance of fitness and promised to inculcate the habit of exercising in their lives. A fitness pledge was also administered on this occasion.
